The invention relates to a method and device for inserting elongated steel workpieces into a transport grate (1), which has to be conveyed therewith through a heat-treatment furnace in order to subject the workpieces to a heat treatment. According to the invention, the transport grate (1) is provided with placement cavities (3) for the workpieces and with holding openings (7), which are located above the placement cavities (3) at a distance therefrom, whereby the workpieces extend through the holding openings (7) and, when inserted, are laterally held by the holding openings (7) at a distance therefrom. A material handling robot (B) is provided whose paths and angles of movement are measured by a position measuring system and are forwarded to an electronic control. A feeler mandrel (F) with a centering cone (30) is firstly immersed into the holding opening (7) in order to determine the optimal position of the workpiece subsequently inserted by the material handling robot. This results in preventing damages to the workpiece when inserting the same into the transport grate in the instance that the transport grate has been deformed by repeatedly occurring thermal effects.

A marker-making kit for assembling a marking device having a user- determined mixture of marking solution is provided. The kit includes a base unit coupled to a marker positioning mechanism and a press mechanism. A mixing tube holder secures a mixing tube used for collecting a desired amount of one or more marker fluids. A mixed marker solution is combined, including any number of different colors of marker fluid, and used to saturate a marker reservoir. The saturated reservoir may then be transferred to a maker barrel positioned near the press mechanism. By applying an amount of force with a marker compression arm, a completed marker is secured, enclosing the marker reservoir inside a marker barrel.

The alignment device comprises a disk-shaped device having an outer surface, an inner surface forming an opening through the alignment device, and where the opening is sized to be at least slightly smaller than a major diameter of an expansion portion of the mandrel. In one embodiment, the alignment is nylon to allow the inner surface of the alignment device to be repeatedly, radially expanded and yet the opening formed by the inner surface returns to its original size.

Machine component and use thereof for assembling parts. The machine component comprises a body (1) which is preferably symmetrical relative to an imaginary line (2) through the body (1). The latter has two shafts (3, 4) which project from the body in opposite directions. From a neutral position in which the centre lines of the shafts coincide approximately with each other and with the line of symmetry (2), the shafts (3, 4) can be moved relative to the body (1). One of the shafts (3) can be moved parallel relative to the line of symmetry (2) and the other shaft (4) can be rotated around a point on the line of symmetry (2). The centre line of the shaft thereby forms an acute angle with the line of symmetry. When the machine component is used for guiding in two parts which are movable relative to each other, one of which is to be fitted into the other, the component helps to prevent the occurrence of the so-called jammed-drawer effect. The part which is to be inserted is held by the machine component and is inserted along a straight line with which the line of symmetry of the machine component is approximately parallel. The said point of the component should coincide substantially with that end of the part which is to be inserted which is located furthest from the component, i.e the end which will be inserted first.

Die Erfindung betrifft ebenso ein Verfahren zum Schrauben eines Schließrings (1) mit einem Befestigungsteil (18a) und einem Abrissteil (18b) auf einen Gewindebolzen (2) wobei ein Abführgreifer (22) nach einem Abreißen des Abrissteils (18b) das Abrissteil (18b) greift und das Abrissteil (18b) entfernt. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner eine Schraubvorrichtung zum Ausführen eines erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens.
