Abstract:
The present disclosure provides methods and apparatuses providing uniform polyamide pellets. In one example, a method of producing uniform pellets of a polyamide polymer can comprise steps of cutting a strand of an extruded polyamide polymer at a cutting speed substantially proportional to a throughput of the polyamide polymer to achieve polymer pellet uniformity, and adjusting one or more process parameters to maintain a uniformity of the polyamide pellets.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for dosing and mixing viscous substances accurately and at a desired proportion. The dosable substance can be prepared, e.g., by mixing a solid substance into a liquid in a mixing container or by means of some other mixing apparatus. The mixed substance is then pumped to be packed, or for use elsewhere. The invention is based thereon that the mixture prepared in the mixing container is by means of a constant volume pump (7) circulated in a circulation piping (21, 29) provided with a pressure difference valve (26) for setting the pressure of the piping (21, 29) and a mixture output connection (30, 28) is arranged in the piping (21, 29) before the pressure difference valve (26) in the mixture flow direction.
Abstract:
A gravimetric blender includes a vertical conduit, a vacuum pump having a suction inlet communicating with the interior of the conduit, a plurality of receivers connected to the conduit and vertically supported thereby with each receiver having a single tube therewithin extending from the resin material/vacuum drawn stream inlet to the connection of the receiver with the conduit.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides methods and apparatuses estimating casting throughput during casting process to provide polyamide pellets. The method of estimating casting throughput of an extruded polyamide polymer comprises measuring an amount of casting water flowing in to a casting apparatus typically from two or more locations, measuring the temperature of the casting water flowing in, and measuring the temperature of the casting water flowing out. Additional steps include calculating a heat transfer between the casting water flowing in and the casting water flowing out using the measured amount, and correlating the heat transfer to the casting throughput.
Abstract:
A process of making colored extruded articles wherein each colorant is contained in a separate color concentrate and each color concentrate is fed to an extruder (8) through a separate gravimetric feeder (2, 4, 6) where the color concentrates are melt blended with a thermoplastic polymer prior to extruding.
