Abstract:
An illumination system for motor vehicles, which contains both parking/daytime running lights of one color and turn signal lights of another color. The invention detects whether parking lights are being displayed and, if so, flashes a parking light alternately with its adjacent turn signal light, rather than constantly illuminating the parking light while flashing the adjacent turn signal light.
Abstract:
A vehicle lighting module (100) is disclosed including a lighting unit comprising a solid state light element (110, 110'); a reflector (120, 120') arranged to reflect light emitted by the solid state light element; and a lens array (130, 130') opposite the reflector, said lens array comprising a plurality of substantially upright columnar lenses (132, 132') for distributing the reflected light in a plane perpendicular to the propagation direction of said upright lenses, wherein the solid state light element is arranged such that at least most of the emitted light is directed towards the reflector.
Abstract:
A method of providing multiple headlamp configurations sharing a common vehicle- mount interface, the method comprising: selecting one of at least two reflectors, the at least two reflectors sharing a common forward interface and the common vehicle-mount interface at a rearward interface, with each having a different reflector shape; affixing the selected reflector to a rear portion of a bezel shaped to conform to the common forward interface of the at least two reflectors; and affixing one of at least two lamp bezels to a forward interface of the bezel, wherein the at least two lamp bezels share a common rear portion shaped to conform to the common forward interface of the bezel, and are shaped differently at their respective front portions.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
An optically adjustable light module (10), such as a daytime running lamp of a motor vehicle, includes a housing (12). At least one light source (14) is rotatable about a rotational axis and has an optical axis (16), the light source (14) being disposed in an interior of the housing (12). A direction adjuster (30) is disposed at an exterior of the housing (12). The housing (12) is sealed against moisture. Movement of the direction adjuster (30) rotates the light source (14) about the rotational axis and adjusts a position of the optical axis (16).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a control device (5) for an illumination device (3) of a motor vehicle (1), said illumination device (3) comprising at least one LED (4) and being especially a daytime running light and/or a parking light. The control device (5) comprises a converter (7) and a control unit (8) for controlling the converter (7) in accordance with a control signal, the brightness of the illumination device (3) being adjusted by having the control unit (8) control the converter (7) in a pulse width-modulated manner in accordance with a sampling degree of the control signal. According to the invention, a characteristic curve (13) which transforms a sampling degree of the control signal into a sampling degree of the converter (7) is stored in the control unit (8), at least a range (14) of the sampling degree of the control signal lying below a threshold value (15) being transformed into a zero sampling degree for the converter (7).
Abstract:
An automotive lighting system (20) is described with a signal emitting device (30) installed in a lamp socket (18). The lamp socket (18) is connected to a lighting connection (16) of a vehicle (10). The signal emitting device (30) emits a signal if the lighting connection (16) is energized. A lighting module (24) is connected to an electrical power supply (28) of the vehicle (10). The lighting module (24) comprises a receiver (42), a control unit (45) and a light source (22). The control unit (46) is disposed to operate the light source (22) in a first mode if a signal is received in the receiver, and in a second mode if the signal is not received.
