Abstract:
Abstract:
There is provided a method of cooking and sterilization of food arranged in a sealed package comprising a one-way valve that opens at a supra-atmospheric pressure of 20-200 mbar, said method comprising the steps of: a) heating the sealed package to cook the food; b) subjecting the sealed package from step a) to a sub-atmospheric pressure such that gas leaves the sealed package through the valve; and c) autoclaving the sealed package from step b) at a supra-atmospheric pressure.
Abstract:
Disclosed are devices, kits and methods for forming a marker element including, in aspects, a tube having a longitudinal direction, a base element received in a first end of the tube, a wire receiving portion at a second end of the tube, a force applicator receivable within the second end of the tube, the force applicator being configured to apply force to a received wire in the longitudinal direction of the tube to deformably compress the received wire to a selected length relative to the longitudinal direction of the tube. Also disclosed is a marker delivery device having a tube, a marker element preformed within the tube, and an actuator element receivable in the tube to move the marker element from the tube into a tissue site.
Abstract:
Device for discharging loose products (P) comprising a conveyor body (22) attachable with its first end (23) to a treatment machine (11) for the loose products (P). The conveyor body (22), in correspondence to its second end (25), comprises a bottom wall (27) in which a collection aperture (26) is made, selectively openable/closable by means of an opening/closing member (28) to allow the discharge of said loose products (P). The discharge device for loose products (P) comprises a delivery nozzle (40) located in the conveyor body (22) and configured to deliver a stream of gas (F) at least toward the bottom wall (27) to determine the discharge, through the collection aperture (26), at least of the loose products (P) that are deposited on the bottom wall (27).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a toy product with a toy article and a packaging, wherein the toy article has a soft textile surface and a soft deformable filling. The invention also relates to a method for producing the toy product and a method for providing a toy product with a used toy article and a packaging. Thus, it is an object of the invention to propose toy products that are accepted in hospitals and provide a full replacement for conventional stuffed animals through suitable consistency and touch. The object of the invention is achieved in one aspect through a toy product defined supra which is characterized in that the textile surface and also the filling are made from sterilization resistant materials and the packaging includes a sterile blister, wherein the toy article is sterilized and enclosed in the sterile blister. The object of the invention is also achieved through a method for producing or providing the toy products.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a caddy configured to receive medical implants coupled to respective holders. The medical implants and holders may be oriented and/or located in the caddy based on one or more of size, shape, and other configuration of the medical implants and holders and the openings in the caddy through which the medical implants are received. Another embodiment of the invention incudes a medical implant having an implant body portion and a detachable marking portion that is connected to the implant body portion by a frangible region structured to provide selective separation of the implant body portion from the detachable marking portion upon application of a force or torque to the implant body portion, and the detachable marking portion including one or more markings that correspond to identifying information associated with features or characteristics of the implant body portion.
Abstract:
An intramedullary orthopedic implant includes a body section having a first end that provides a point of insertion for the body section and a second end. The body section further includes wings extending away from the point of insertion for the body section. The intramedullary orthopedic implant further includes first and second legs extending from the second end of the body section. The first and second legs begin in a first implanted shape, are movable to a second insertion shape, and remain in the second insertion shape as long as the first and second legs are mechanically constrained.
Abstract:
A chemically modified cellulosic fibre or filament having a moisture content of at least 7% by weight obtained by a process comprising the steps of (i) obtaining cellulosic fibres or filament and chemically modifying the cellulose by substitution to increase its absorbency; (ii) washing the fibres after step (i) in a mixture comprising water and up to 99% by weight of water-miscible organic solvent; (iii) drying the fibres to a moisture content of at least 7% by weight, tart abstract here
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to a method for applying a coating of hydrophilic polymers onto silicone hydrogel contact lenses to improve hydrophilicity and lubricity. In particular, the present invention is directed to a method for forming a coating on a contact lens, preferably a silicone hydrogel contact lens, directly in the primary package and maintaining the coated contact lens within said primary package until insertion of the coated contact lens in the eye of the contact lens user. The resultant silicone hydrogel contact lens has a coating with good hydrophilicity, improved lubricity and good durability and also can be used directly from the lens package by a patient without washing and/or rising.
