Abstract:
Laminates comprising a foamed polyethylene layer reduces material costs but yet can be used to make user-acceptable bags and other containers to hold consumable products (such as a dry laundry detergent) that withstand the rigors of manufacturing and transporting.
Abstract:
A reclosable pour-spout packaging, such as a bag, has a top handle and can be manufactured on a form-fill-seal machine. A reclosable structure can reversibly close and open the interior of the packaging. The handle can comprise a cut extending through the packaging. An additional seal area in the packaging can provide support so that a punch and die assembly can punch or cut the handle in the additional seal area. Additionally or alternatively, a laser device, a blade, a knife, or another cutting tool can form the handle in the additional seal area. The additional sealed area can provide stiffness for carrying the packaging and also prevent access into the packaging where the handle is made. The additional seal area can be positioned below the top seal of the packaging so that less material is used for the handle.
Abstract:
Device (1) for obtaining containers (2) from a thermoformed sheet (3), comprising a sealing and stamping station (5) having a bottom body (6) and a top body (7), a sealing film (10) which is designed to be heat-welded being fed between the thermoformed sheet (3) and the top body (7), said bottom body (6) comprising a base (11), an internal body (14) and damping means (17), said damping means (17) being configured so that during the same working cycle the internal body (14) assumes a first position for welding the sealing film (10) to the thermoformed sheet (3) and a second position for stamping the thermoformed sheet (3) and the sealing film (10).
Abstract:
A sealed multi-handled bag (10) is provided that includes a first handle (16) at a first end and a second handle (18) at a second end. In one embodiment, the handles are on substantially opposite ends of the bag (10). The sealed bag (10) may be made from plastic and may contain loose materials (14), such as a salt. In some embodiments, one or more of the handles are formed from heat-sealed layers of bag material having a grip (38) cut therein. A method for filling and sealing the multi-handled sealed bag (10) includes filling a bag (10) having a first closed end through a second open end, and sealing the second open end to form a handle. In one embodiment, sealing the second open end includes heat-sealing opposing layers of bag material together and cutting a handle through the layers. In another embodiment, the method includes folding-over the layers of bag material.
Abstract:
A packaging method comprises dispensing a material continuously from a roll, forming a plurality of packages from the material, filling each package with contents and sealing each package once filled. A hanging aperture is created for each package, prior to it being formed into the package, the material having been folded or creased in the area in which the aperture is to be created.
Abstract:
A stand-up flexible pouch for packaging a product and a method of forming and filling the pouch is provided. The pouch includes a panel forming a body of the pouch using a flexible material having an inner surface and an outer surface. A rib is integrally formed in the pouch body, and the rib is spaced a predetermined distance from an edge of the pouch body. The pouch also includes opening means integral with the panel for accessing a product contained within the pouch. The method of forming the pouch thermoforms a rib in each panel of material across multiple lanes of a high speed machine.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for continuously or intermittently and vertically forming, filling and sealing packaging includes an infeed section, a pleating assembly, a forming tube and a sealing assembly. The pleating assembly imparts at least one pleat to the film. The film may be driven and measured at a nip following the pleating. The forming tube receives the film from the infeed section after the pleat has been made. A film tube is formed about the forming tube. The film tube is vertically fed downward to the sealing assembly which imparts seals to the film tube, thereby forming packages. A hole punch punches holes in the film tube. The film travels a film path that includes the hole punch, the forming tube, the vertical seal assembly and the horizontal seal assembly.
