A hydrocarbon feedstock containing C5 olefins, C5 diolefins, CPD, DCPD, and aromatics is processed by the steps of heating a hydrocarbon feedstock (102) containing CPD, DCPD, C5 diolefins, benzene, toluene, and xylene in a heating zone (100), to dimerize CPD to DCPD, thereby forming a first effluent (104); separating the first effluent into a C6+ stream (110) and a C5 diolefin stream (108); separating the C6+ stream into a C6-C9 stream (114) and a C10+ stream; separating the C10+ stream into a fuel oil stream (134) and a DCPD stream (132); and hydrotreating the C6-C9 stream to thereby form a BTX stream.

The present invention refers to novel ruthenium-based catalysts for olefin metathesis reactions, particularly to fast initiating catalysts having stereoselective properties. In olefin metathesis reactions, the disclosed catalysts provide a high catalytic activity combined with the capability to generate higher yields of the olefin metathesis product.

The present invention is an improved process and method for the formation of stable intermediate cyclophanes. The invention provides for a general method for the production of substituted and unsubstituted cyclophanes. The components of the invention are a pyrolysis reaction tube that may be electrically heated into which a flowing stream of nitrous oxide with xylene vapor in an optional inert carrier gas at atmospheric pressure. The exit gas is condensed resulting in the deposition of [2,2']paracyclophane. Additionally a process and method whereby the reactive intermediates of the reaction described above can be directly deposited and polymerized at atmospheric pressures or thereabout is disclosed.
