Abstract:
Adhesive articles, particularly useful as reusable closures, comprising a moisture resistant substrate and a removable adhesive covering at least a portion substrate surface, the adhesive having a Moist Loop Test result of at least about 25 N/25mm at a test plate temperature of 5 DEG C. The closure may also include a permanent adhesive covering another portion of the substrate surface. The adhesive articles provide easy application to packages and exhibit good adhesion performance in the presence of moisture, such as from refrigerated or frozen food packaging.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A drug delivery vehicle (e.g., a patch, a pill, an intravaginal ring, and an implant) may include a polymer matrix comprising a plasticizer and at least one selected from the group consisting of: a cellulose ester, a cellulose ether, a starch ester, a starch ether, and a combination thereof. A drug may be dispersed in the polymer matrix, in another portion of the drug delivery vehicle, or both.
Abstract:
A fluid absorbing pressure sensitive adhesive composition and adhesive articles including the fluid absorbing adhesive that have particular utility in the medical field, and in particular, for use with wound dressings is provided. The adhesive composition has superior fluid handling capacity, moisture vapor transmission and skin adhesion. Also described are dressings, cover drapes, and/or sealing components for negative pressure wound therapy applications. The articles include a thin film having a layer of a breathable hydrocolloid adhesive. When used in negative pressure wound therapy applications, the articles are breathable and fluid absorbing.

Abstract:
Adhesive compositions are described which include one or more gelling agents in combination with one or more non-gelling disintegrants. The adhesive compositions exhibit relatively high fluid handling capacities and static absorption properties, thus enabling their use in a wide range of medical applications. Various adhesive articles such as dressings and related methods of use are also described which utilize the adhesive compositions. In preferred embodiments the adhesive component is an acrylic adhesive, the gelling agent is selected from the group consisting of (i) carboxymethyl cellulose, (ii) superabsorbent polymer, and (iii) combinations of (i) and (ii), and the non-gelling disintegrant is selected from the group consisting of (i) fully pregelatinized potato starch, (ii) microcrystalline celluloseand (iii) combinations of any of (i) - (ii).
Abstract:
In some instances, adhesives may include a cellulose ester and a plasticizer in an amount of about 15% or greater by weight of the adhesive, wherein the plasticizer comprises a nonionic surfactant. In some instances, adhesives may include a cellulose ester and a mixture of two or more plasticizers in an amount of about 15% or greater by weight of the adhesive, wherein a melt flow index of the adhesive melt is greater than comparable adhesive melts that comprise the cellulose ester and only one of the plasticizers at the same amount.
Abstract:
Adhesives may include a base polymer composition, optionally a tackifying resin, optionally a wax, and optionally additives (e.g., plasticizers, fillers, antioxidants, and the like, and combinations thereof), where the base polymer comprises a highly plasticized cellulose ester and optionally polymers traditionally used in pressure sensitive adhesives, hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives, or hot melt adhesives (e.g., ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers, polysiloxanes, and polyurethanes).
Abstract:
The adhesive compositions that include starch derivatives, plasticizers, optionally cellulose derivatives, and optionally other additives. By tailoring the composition and concentration of these components, hot melt adhesive compositions, hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive compositions, and pressure sensitive adhesives have been produced. Further, these adhesive compositions may be useful in articles including diapers, laminates, repositionable advertisements, and many more.
Abstract:
A ply-bonding agent or adhesive composition characterized by a viscosity and a surface tension for the manufacture of paper tissue and paper towel, includes: (a) water; (b) nanofibrillated cellulose; and (c) one or more modifiers effective to modify either or both of (i) the viscosity of the composition or (ii) the surface tension of the composition, wherein the one or more additional modifiers are selected from the group consisting of components (iii), (iv), (v), (vi), (vii) or (viii), wherein:(iii) is PVOH and a viscosity modifier; (iv) is a viscosity modifier; (v) is a viscosity modifier and a surface tension modifier other than PVOH; (vi) is a water-soluble cellulose derivative; (vii) is a water soluble polyol; and (viii) is a surface tension modifier other than PVOH. The compositions are particularly useful for ply-bonding multi-ply absorbent sheet when the plies are treated with debonder.
