Abstract:
A process for extracting metal values from ores or residues is disclosed. The process mentioned above is mainly suitable for aluminoferrous ores such as bauxite, titanoferrous ores such as ilmenite, or residues such as red mud waste. The process involves pulverizing the ore and/or residue and mixing with a carbonaceous material, followed by smelting the iron values and slag in the mixture to yield molten iron and oxides of aluminum and titanium. The process is simple, cost-effective, and provides effective extraction of high purity metal values.
Abstract:
It is described a manganese pellet production from non-calcinated manganese ore, comprising the following phases: (a) ore size preparation through ore classification by function of particle size, smaller or equal to 1 mm particles being maintained from the ore particle fraction process so as to have a smaller or equal to 1 mm size, as well as the comminution of these particles; (b) flux addition; (c) agglomerant addition; (d) pelletizing resulting in crude pellets; and (e) thermal processing through crude pellet drying, pre-heating and heating.
Abstract:
The present invention refers to a binding composition containing bentonite for use in binding finely ground iron ore. The composition of the invention comprises bentonite and molasses. The invention also refers to process for preparing iron ore pellets wherein a composition comprising bentonite and molasses is used as binder.
Abstract:
A system and method for preparing a pelletized carbon black product is provided. The system includes a source of a carbon black product from a pyrolysis process. A mixer is in communication with the source of the carbon black product. A binder oil storage tank is in fluid communication with the mixer. The binder oil storage tank is configured to inject a desired amount of a binder oil into the mixer to form the pelletized carbon black product.
Abstract:
A pyrolysis process is provided. The process includes the steps of: depositing a quantity of waste into a porous container, the porous container adapted to allow a convective stream of substantially anaerobic gas to flow therethrough; inserting the porous container into a pyrolysis thermal processor; sealing the thermal processor; circulating the convective stream of gas through the pyrolysis thermal processor; heating the waste according to a first time- temperature profile to pyrolyze the waste and form a carbonaceous char; and cooling the carbonaceous char by circulating the convective stream of gas through a cooler. An oil product and a gaseous hydrocarbon product are produced during the pyrolysis. The carbonaceous char is further processed to form a carbon black product and a recyclable metal product.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the formation of pellets containing an ultra hard core coated with an encapsulating material, the process combines the "fluidised bed" method and the "rotating pan" method and includes the steps of suspending ultra hard core material in a flow of gas; contacting the ultra hard core material with encapsulating to form pellets, introducing the pellets into a rotating vessel and contacting the pellets with encapsulating material to form pellets of greater mass than the pellets introduced into the rotating vessel. The invention also relates to a pellet containing an ultra hard core coated with an encapsulating material whenever produced by a process as hereinbefore described.
