The invention relates to a machine, comprising several processing stations which integrate the following means in a combined and successive manner, according to the same work position: - means for twisting/cabling (1) a yarn, - thermosetting means, composed of a rotating heating godet (2), followed by an accumulator (3) capable of cooling and relaxing the yarn in a totally free state, without tension, and - means for winding (4) the yarn (5), said means being secured to yarn guiding and driving bodies.

A method of controlling the temperature of an optical fiber is provided that includes the steps of: providing an energy transfer member configured to accept or provide thermal energy, the energy transfer member defines an energy transfer surface; passing an optical fiber proximate the energy transfer member such that a gap is defined between the optical fiber and the energy transfer surface; and transferring thermal energy between the optical fiber and the energy transfer member via conduction across the gap.

A process for humidifying spun spools is based on a trough-shaped steam chamber (2) arranged immediately beside a spinning machine (1) parallel to the row of spools (15) of the spinning position (14). Thus the spools (15) are taken from the spinning positions (14) to the steam chamber (2) by means of an ordinary extractor (17) and, after the humidification process, the spools (15'') are transported from the steam chamber (2) to the conveyor (16) of the spinning machine (1). The humidification process is thereby integrated into the flow of materials in the spinning plant. The storage time of the spools after humidification can be predetermined within wide limits. In addition, the installation requires the minimum amount of space and no additional manual handling of the spools.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur thermischen Behandlung eines laufenden Garns (14) an einer Zwirnmaschine mit einer Vielzahl von Arbeitsstellen, die jeweils eine Vorrichtung (1) zur thermischen Behandlung des laufenden Garns (14) aufweisen, der je ein Lieferwerk (2, 3) vorangestellt beziehungsweise nachgeordnet ist, mittels derer das Garn (14) die Vorrichtung (1) im Wesentlichen spannungsfrei durchläuft, und dass das Garn (14) nach dem Passieren des nachgeschalteten Lieferwerkes (3) aufgespult wird, wobei das durchlaufende Garn (14) durch positionsveränderliche Mittel (24, 25, 27) mit einer definierten Kraft beaufschlagt wird, deren durch eine Änderung der Garnspannung aufgrund von Störeinflüssen während der thermischen Behandlung des Garnes (14) hervorgerufene Positionsänderung als Stellgröße zur Steuerung mindestens eines der Lieferwerke (2, 3) verwendet wird.

Method and apparatus for forming a twisted bobbin (39) from forming packages (20) normally used to make zero twist yarn. One embodiment includes substituting a zero twist yarn forming packages (20) for conventional forming packages (1) on a conventional twist frame. A twisted yarn package (39) made from a zero twist yarn forming input (20) or any forming package whose diameter does not change during a building cycle does not have the tendency for short-term yardage, twist or drying variations and the resulting problems. In a second embodiment (Figure 3), the making of the strand path (33) of the top and bottom creels (31, 34) equivalent reduced air jet loom flight time CV from about 3 % to about 2 %. In a third embodiment (Figures 4-5), it was found that a more uniform bobbin (119, 219) was obtained by adding a metering device, Godet roll (111, 211) to the supply strand (112) from a conventionally driven rotating creel (104) or a stationary creel (204). Alternatively, a contactive drying device (a heated godet roll) may be used to dry the yarn (112) between the creel and spindle. In yet another aspect, there is provided a zero-twist yarn-forming package with an inside draw from a stationary creel.

The present invention relates to a yarn drawing roller (1) which heats the yarn with infrared heaters in order to provide preferred elongation and strength features to the yarn in yarn production process and thus enables to apply hot and cold drawing processes, and also has at least one infrared heater (7) which can be located inside the body (2) or anywhere around it and enables to heat the yarn for providing the preferred elongation and strength features.
