Abstract:
A method to adjust a phone number is provided. The method may include receiving a first phone call at a telephonic device and obtaining a phone number from the first phone call. In some embodiments, the phone number may identify an origin of the first phone call. The method may further include prepending a digit to the phone number and storing the phone number with the prepended digit in a memory in the telephonic device. In some embodiments, the method may further include using the stored phone number to initiate automatic placement of the second phone call.
Abstract:
An apparatus for context-based contact information management may include a processor. The at least one processor may be configured to receive contact information and associated sender-based context information. In this regard, the contact information and sender-based context information may have been transmitted from a sending device. The at least one processor may also be configured to associate receiver-based context information with the contact information and identify a historical context within a historical multi-dimensional context environment based at least in part on the sender-based context information and the receiver-based context information. Further, the at least one processor may be configured to link the contact information to the historical context. Associated methods and computer program products may also be provided.
Abstract:
In accordance with one or more aspects, criteria including both a type of communication and a user signal are received. Additionally, a response to be stored as a pre-determined response is received. Both the criteria and the response are stored. When a communication satisfying the criteria (both the type of communication and the user signal) is subsequently received, the pre-determined response is sent to the device from which the communication is received.
Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed for making an automated telephone call more interactive and intelligent by saving responses gathered from a previous call and using that information to build more personal and engaging subsequent interactions. An initial telephone call can be designed with data needs in mind. Relevant responses from the initial calls can be captured and stored and a follow- up call can be created that includes dialogs that reference specific information from the previous interactions with the system. Such build call techniques can be utilized on outbound, as well as inbound calls, and can simulate a human being's ability to listen, remember and refer to past conversations, making the automated telephone calls more interactive and effective.
Abstract:
Systems and methods disclosed herein to provide relayed language interpretation are disclosed herein. The relayed language interpretation permits a caller to communicate with a third party. A language interpretation call is received from a caller at a language interpretation provider. A caller language corresponding to a language spoken of the caller is determined. A first interpreter that speaks the caller language and a base language is engaged to the language interpretation call. An indication from the caller that the caller needs interpretation between the caller language and a third-party language is received. The first interpreter is permitted to engage a second interpreter that speaks the base language and the third-party language. The second interpreter is engaged to the language interpretation call. The third party is engaged to the language interpretation call. Over-the-phone interpretation of the caller language and the third-party language is performed.
Abstract:
A method of providing caller identification information to a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) telephone device is disclosed and includes receiving an incoming telephone call. The method also includes determining a destination VoIP telephone device associated with the incoming call. Further, the method includes populating a caller identification portal with a plurality of identification characteristics from a caller profile and presenting the caller identification portal to a display of the destination VoIP telephone device. The caller identification portal can include a first mode in which a partial caller identification portal is presented and a second mode in which a full caller identification portal is presented.
Abstract:
Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for limiting a communication range of a fixed wireless terminal. The method comprises the steps of generating and radio-transmitting communication maintaining data through a transmitting unit in a fixed device; receiving, through a receiving unit of a mobile device, the communication maintaining data transmitted from the fixed device, and judging by a receiving processor whether or not the inputted communication maintaining data corresponds to that stored in the receiving processor; outputting a communication permitting signal from the receiving processor to a CPU when the inputted communication maintaining data corresponds to that stored in the receiving processor, to maintain communication; and outputting a communication forbidding signal from the receiving processor to the CPU when the inputted communication maintaining data does not correspond to that stored in the receiving processor, to interrupt communication.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for obtaining contact-related information associated with a party using an identifier. The identifier may include a calling party number, a previously-dialed number, and/or a number specified by a user. The identifier could also include an e-mail address, an instant messenger address, a photograph, etc. A request for contact-related information may be initiated by a user and/or a device associated with the user. The request may include an identifier associated with a party. Methods and systems may retrieve contact-related information associated with the party using the identifier. Methods and systems may leverage one or more networks to retrieve the contact-related information. Contact information may be retrieved in order to add a contact to a user’s address book.
Abstract:
A method for providing an information service, comprising the steps of communicating, from a user via a request communications link to at least one information service provider (ISP), information service indication data indicating at least one information service requested by the user, and providing the at least one indicated information service from at least one of the at least one information service provider (ISP) to the user.
