Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for providing adaptable audio/visual immersion in one or more zones or regions, the system comprising in at least some of the zones: (i) none or a number N1 of a first category of devices that are configured to affect a person's auditory perception of the surroundings in which he is situated by radiation of sound energy into the surroundings; (ii) none or a number N2 of a second category of devices configured to reproduce video or pictures that affect a person's visual perception of the surroundings in which he is situated; (iii) none or a number N3 of a third category of devices that is configured to affect other perceptually pertinent characteristics of the surroundings; and (iv) a control system and user interface configured to control the devices belonging to said categories. The user interface is provided with a user-operable control member, such that the user by means of this control- member can adjust parameter settings of the sound radiating devices and adjust parameter settings of the devices configured to reproduce video or pictures and adjust parameter settings of the devices that is configured to affect other perceptually pertinent characteristics of the surroundings. According to the invention, the audio/visual immersion in one or more of the zones or regions can be adapted by the user via the user interface by adjusting said control member, without the user having to adjust the individual parameter settings of the devices of the first, second and third category. The user-operable control member can be configured to control the parameter settings of the devices belonging to the different categories simultaneously, such that all relevant parameter settings of the devices belonging to the different categories are adjusted by the user simultaneously, when the user operates the user- operable control member. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.
Abstract:
An example implementation may involve a device of a multi-zone media playback system displaying a control interface that is associated with a first zone of the media playback system, where the media playback system further includes a second zone. The implementation may also involve the device determining that it is outside of a threshold proximity to the first zone. The method may further involve displaying (i) an indication that the first zone is under control of the device, and (ii) an indication that the device is outside of the threshold proximity to the first zone.
Abstract:
The Invention is a method of utilizing finger motions over a touch screen or touch pad to perform the TV control operations. It involves a set of conversion methods from touch motions to commonly used key events. The main purpose of the invention is to substitute frequently used remote keys using simple touch motions, so that a smart, powerful and user-friendly remote can be easily achieved no matter it is a physical one or software one.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for alerting a mobile device about a broadcast television event include pairing a mobile device with a television receiver to establish a local wireless connection between the mobile device and the television receiver. An event selection is received at the television receiver. The event selection is indicative of a program title related to a broadcast program to be alerted to the mobile device. After the television receiver determines that threshold time prior to the broadcast time of the event selection has been reached, the television receiver alerts the mobile device through the local wireless connection.
Abstract:
A Method and a device for obtaining information based on an audio input are disclosed. The method is performed at an electronic device having one or more processors and memory. The method includes: while running a social networking application, sending a first audio input to a server hosting the social networking application, wherein the first audio input is captured in response to a triggering event; retrieving, from the server, a productin formation item associated with a product identified based on the first audio input, wherein the product information item is obtained by comparing at least one audio feature of the first audio input with signature audio features extracted from audio of TV or radio broadcast within a predetermined time span; and displaying the retrieved product information item to a user of the electronic device within the social networking application.
Abstract:
Features of various implementations are used to control operation of a second electronic device from a first electronic device using indirect control methods and optical character recognition. In some implementations, communication between a primary set-top box and a supplemental set-top box is configured in order to avoid the need for one or more provider-specific APIs. For example, one aspect of the disclosure is a method of identifying commands that can be used to control one or more features of a primary set-top box (e.g., DVR or VOD features) by a supplemental set-top box issuing commands to the primary set- top box via a wireless (e.g., IR) transmitter, and then using optical character recognition to identify the outcomes of those commands as displayed on a primary TV display or secondary display.
Abstract:
A disclosed detection result acquiring apparatus comprises a first operation object detection unit, a comparison section, and a processing section. The first operation object detection unit is capable of detecting a first number of operation objects. The comparison section is configured to compare the first number with a second number representing a number of operation objects a second operation object detection unit is capable of detecting so as to obtain a comparison result. The processing section is configured to perform processing based on the comparison result.
