A device for providing supervisory, diagnostic or technical assistance, the device including a user-wearable item with a communication module, a control unit, an actuator, an adjustable light source, a camera and a power supply pack attached to the item wherein the control unit is responsive to commands from the communication module which is in wireless communication with a remote control centre, under the supervision of a skilled technician, so that information/signals/commands are relayed between the communication module and the remote control centre to control the actuator to produce a user- discernible signal and a direction of a unidirectional beam of the light source relative to the item thereby to guide a user wearing the item.

Abstract:
Systems, methods, and/or devices are used for moving an optical device relative to an image sensor to focus an image. A device acquires, by one or more depth sensors, a set of depth measurements within a predefined spatial coordinate system. A respective depth measurement of the set of depth measurements indicates a distance from the imaging device to an object. One or more orientation sensors determine orientation information of the imaging device within the predefined coordinate system. The method further comprises estimating an object distance between the imaging device and the object based on the set of depth measurements and the orientation information.

A mobile hyperspectral camera system is described. The mobile hyperspectral camera system comprises a mobile host device comprising a processor and a display: a plurality of cameras, coupled to the processor, configured to capture images in distinct spectral bands; and a hyperspectral flash array, coupled to the processor, configured to provide illumination to the distinct spectral bands. A method of implementing a mobile hyperspectral camera system is also described.

This invention relates to a method to obtain an image from the perspective of a pacifier user. The method involves the steps of: providing a digital camera mounted, on pacifier apparatus (90) and capturing the image. This can be accomplished in one embodiment by providing an apparatus made of a perpendicular mounting member (30) or linear mounting member (35) that has a plurality of grooved, prongs shaped to secure the ring (20) of a pacifier; and a digital camera (40) attached to the perpendicular mounting member (30).

A system and method determine color of skin of a subject and produce a customized cosmetic based at least in part on the determined color of skin. A region of skin is covered with a chamber having an open area facing the skin. The skin is illuminated with light caused to enter the chamber. The light is caused to be dispersed within the chamber. A camera is used to record an image of a portion of the dispersed light in the chamber and the recorded image is processed to characterize the color of the skin. The recorded image includes a plurality of colors which are mapped to the closest color recipe. The color recipe is used to calculate actuator displacements for a portioning machine that includes a cartridge having cosmetic additives that produce the customized cosmetic.
