Abstract:
A multi-port modular jack (10) including an outer housing part (100) having a top wall (110), a bottom wall (115) and a front face (105) having a mid-portion (107) arranged substantially parallel to and between the top wall (110) and the bottom wall (115). The front face (105) defines a first, upper row of at least one aperture (200) between the mid-portion (107) and the top wall (110) and a second, lower row of at least one aperture (210) between the mid-portion (107) and the bottom wall (115). The aperture (200) in the first row has a plane of symmetry offset in relation to a plane of symmetry of the aperture (210) in the second row such that only a portion of the aperture (200) in the first row is directly opposed to the aperture (210) in the second row. Inner housing parts (1000, 1100) are arranged in the outer part (100) to define a plug-receiving receptacle therewith in alignment with a respective aperture (200, 210) in the front face (105) of the outer housing part (100). Each inner housing part (1000, 1100) includes contact/terminal members (1010, 1110) for engaging contacts of a plug insertable into a respective plug-receiving receptacle. A vent (164) is formed in the outer housing part (100) to allow for air flow through the jack (10). A metallic shield (1200) may surround the jack (10).

Abstract:
The invention relates to a solar cell arrangement consisting of series-connected solar subcells. Said solar subcells consist of a semiconductor wafer which forms a common base material for all of the solar subcells and wherein a number of recesses are provided for delimiting the individual, series-connected solar subcells. The invention is characterised in that at least some of the recesses extend from the top surface of the semiconductor wafer, through the wafer itself to the bottom surface and in that at most some bridge segments are left in continuation of the recesses as far as the wafer edge, to mechanically interconnect the solar subcells.

Abstract:
An electrical connector system includes a connector mounted on a printed circuit board and mateable with a mating connector in a mating direction at an acute angle to the circuit board. A connector housing mounts at least two sets of first and second terminals. The connector housing is mountable on the circuit board in a mounting direction generally perpendicular to the board. The first terminals have tail portions extending in the mounting direction generally perpendicular to the circuit board. The second terminals have tail portions extending at an acute angle to the mounting direction. The printed circuit board has holes for receiving the tail portions of the first terminals and elongated slots for receiving the angled tail portions of the second terminals. The slots are sufficiently long to accommodate distal ends of the angled tail portions which extend at the acute angle to the mounting direction.
Abstract:
A reversible connector for coupling with a USB A-type standard connector, including a first set of four electrical contact regions and a second set of four electrical contact regions, the contact regions configured such that in a first coupling orientation of the reversible con-nector with the standard connector, only the first set of electrical contact regions is mechani-cally connected with the contacts of the standard connector and in a second coupling orienta-tion of the reversible connector with the standard connector, only the second set of electrical contact regions is mechanically connected with the contacts of the standard connector. Also provided are corresponding reversible USB devices and appliances based upon the aforemen-tioned reversible connectors.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cable connector assembly comprising cover means and connecting means, wherein the cover means comprise wall portions and an opening adapted to accommodate the connecting means. At least one of the wall portions is at least partially curved for guiding at least one cable of one or more other cable connector assemblies. Cable ties to attach the cable to the curved wall portion are disclosed are well. The invention facilitates cable management in dense and small cabinets.
Abstract:
A telecommunications patch panel is provided having a plurality of connector modules rotatably mounted to a frame member. Each connector module has a front face and an opposite facing rear face, and each front face includes a plurality of connector jacks. Eachrear face includes a plurality of wire termination blocks. The wire termination blocks are electrically connected to the connector jacks. Each connector module is rotatable about a rotation axis relative to the frame member. A lock selectively locks each connector module to the frame member as desired. The connector jacks and the connector modules are arranged in linear arrays perpendicular to the axis of rotation.

Abstract:
The present invention involves an electrical or electronic communication signal distribution system which is uniquely designed to cooperate with or interfit into the interior of a typical modular office panel. The system can be considered to have three key interacting and cooperating elements; a removable casing, a complementary raceway, and electrical or electronic wire signal distribution means incorporated into the channel. The system typically provides electrical or electronic wire communication signals to a variety of computers and communication devices such as telephones and facsimile machines. Other aspects of the invention include a panel, such as a modular office partition, or a power pole, into which the system fits, or with which it cooperatively operates; and apparatus comprising the combination of the panel and system.
