The disclosure involves a novel amine ether acid salt surfactant. The amine constituent of the surfactant may include ether amines or fatty-based amines. The ether acid constituent of the surfactant, in particular, imparts liquidity to the surfactant. Hydrophobic regions may be included on both the amine and ether acid enhancing the surfactancy of the composition. The novel surfactant is versatile and is useful in many different applications.

According to the invention, a slow setting bitumen-aggregate mix for cold paving is manufactured by a) preparing a cationic oil-in-water emulsion of bitumen in the presence of an emulsifier containing i) a tertiary polyamine selected from the group consisting of a di(C 2 -C 3 alkylene)triamine, a tri(C- 2 C 3 alkylene)tetraamine, a tetra(C 2 -C 3 alkylene)pentaamine, a penta(C 2 -C 3 alkylene)hexaamine, a hexa(C 2 C 3 alkylene)heptaamine or a mixture thereof, which amine compounds have only tertiary amine groups and contain one or two aliphatic groups with 8-22 carbon atoms, bound to a nitrogen atom, while the remaining nitrogen substituents are methyl groups and ii) an acid present in such an amount that the aqueous emulsion obtains a pH value from 1-6, preferably 1.5-5, and b) mixing the aqueous emulsion obtained with a solid aggregate. The present invention also comprises a tertiary polyamine selected from said group of tertiary polyamines or a salt thereof with an acid, a process for the production of said tertiary amine, as well as the use of the tertiary polyamine salt as an emulsifying or cohesion increasing agent.

Cette invention concerne un procédé de réduction du frottement exercé par un liquide aqueux passant au travers d'un conduit dans des conditions d'écoulement non laminaires ainsi que des compositions liquides aqueuses ayant un tel frottement réduit et contenant un agent tensio-actif visco-élastique et un électrolyte organique. Le procédé consiste à faire passer au travers d'un conduit un liquide aqueux contenant (1) un composé tensio-actif ayant un ion tensio-actif et (2) un électrolyte organique ayant une moitié capable de s'associer à l'ion tensio-actif pour former un agent tensio-actif visco-élastique, cet agent tensio-actif visco-élastique étant présent en une quantité suffisante pour réduire le frottement du liquide aqueux lorsqu'il passe par le conduit et l'électrolyte organique étant présent en une quantité suffisante pour réduire davantage le frottement exercé par le liquide aqueux contenant l'agent tensio-actif visco-élastique lorsqu'il passe au travers du conduit dans des conditions d'écoulement non laminaires. Les compositions liquides aqueuses sont utiles dans des systèmes de chauffage de quartier, des fluides de forage, des systèmes d'eaux usées, et en tant que milieu porteur pour transporter des boues de charbon et autres minerais.

A dispersant is prepared from an amine and a hydrocarbyl-substituted acylating agent, wherein the hydrocarbyl substituent is a polymerized olefin having a polydispersity M w/ M n of greater than 5. Such polyolefin substituents are prepared by polymerization of olefins in the presence of a calcined catalyst comprising a partially or fully neutralized ammonium salt of a heteropolyacid.

A thin film of a hydrophobic organic substance can be effectively prepared according to an electro-chemical process using the novel ferrocene derivatives or other ferrocene derivatives as micelle-forming agents (surfactants).
