An implantable microstimulator (10) configured to be implanted for tissue stimulation employs a self-contained power source (16) and a bi-directional RF telemetry link (48) for allowing data-containing signals to be sent to and from the implantable microstimulator (10) from at least two external devices (39, 40). Further, a separate electromagnetic inductive telemetry link (38) allows data containing signals to be sent to the implantable microstimulator from at least one of the two external devices (39). The RF bidirectional telemetry link (48) allows the microstimulator to inform the patient or clinician regarding the status of the microstimulator device, including the charge level of a power source, and stimulation parameter states. The microstimulator has a cylindrical hermetically sealed case (12) having a length no greater than about 27 mm and a diameter no greater than about 3.3 mm. A reference electrode (22) is located on one end of the case and an active electrode (24) is located on the other end of the case.

A preservative steel plate including (a) a steel plate, (b) an aluminum plating layer formed on one or both sides of the steel plate and using aluminum or an aluminum alloy containing 2-15 wt.% of silicon, and (c) a coating layer formed on at least one aluminum plating layer mentioned above. The aluminum plating layer is one of i) a resin chromate film of 0.1-2 mu m in thickness containing a resin and a chromate and having a resin/metallic chromium weight ratio of 0.5-18; ii) an inorganic chromate film the amount of which is 10-200 mg/m in terms of metallic chromium, containing 100 parts by weight of chromate in terms of metallic chromium and 100-1000 parts by weight of colloidal silica in terms of metallic chromium, and one or more of 100-600 parts by weight of phosphate, 10-200 parts by weight of phosphonate and less than 50 parts by weight of resin; iii) an inorganic chromate film the amount of which is not less than 10 mg/m and less than 35 mg/m in terms of metallic chromium. The aluminum-plated steel plate is suitable for fuel tanks. An automobile fuel tank having high durability, formability and weldability, and a fuel tank seam welding method are also disclosed.

The invention relates to a light-metal casting with a first and second leg (2, 3) in which a holding component (5) can be secured to an other side (2a) of the first leg (2). A method of continuous manufacture of a composite hollow board material comprising a first surface and a second surface, and between the first and second surfaces a plurality of distance members is disclosed. The method comprises providing material for the first surface from a first reel via a first guide roller towards an output lane; providing material for the second surface from a second reel via a second guide roller towards the output lane; and providing material for the distance members from a third reel towards the output lane such that the distance members comprises strips arranged, at any cross section perpendicular to the first and second surfaces and the direction of the output lane, perpendicular to the first and second surfaces and continuous along the output lane. The providing of material for the distance members comprises guiding at least some of the strips in a meandering pattern, and applying an adhesive to contact the strips on opposite edges thereof such that adhesion to the material of the first and second surfaces is enabled. The first and second guide rollers press the material of the first and second surfaces to the opposite edges of the strips, respectively, such that the material of the first and second surfaces are adhered to the strips. A machine for continuous manufacture of the composite hollow board material, and a computer program for controlling a machine for continuous manufacture of the composite hollow board material are also disclosed.

This reduces the amount of scrap metal, as the binder trim component (40, 240) is subsequently cut off and discarded. Furthermore, the non-linear section (250) can include one or more strategically placed formations, such as projections (50, 60, 104, 246, 248, 252, 260), recesses (52, 62, 106, 254, 262, 266, 268), flat sections (256, 258), etc., that cause it to be non-uniform along its length and to be specifically tailored to the manufacturing requirements of the part being formed.

There is provided a novel terminal bus and retainer (24) for a multicellular converter (10), which converter (10) is characterized by an electrically heatable portion (72, 74) and a light-off portion (76). The electrically heatable portion (72, 74) includes flat thin metal strips as heater bands (130) and flat thin metal bands (100) not electrically heatable. The terminal bus and retainer (24) is adapted to be connected to a voltage source (68) and to ends of the heater bands (130). A portion of the terminal bus and retainer (24) may be used as a connector bus. The terminal bus and retainer (24) also retains the thin metal foil elements in tightly spirally wound condition. These devices are especially useful in catalytic converters for automotive vehicles.
