摘要: A system includes an electronic circuit, a memory, and a control system. The electronic circuit is coupled to a conduit. The conduit may be configured to deliver pressurized air. A portion of the electronic circuit has a first electrical property that is configured to change based at least in part on movement of the portion of the electronic circuit. The memory stores machine-readable instructions. The control system includes one or more processors configured to execute the machine-readable instructions. Data associated with the first electrical property of the electronic circuit is received. The received data is analyzed. Based at least in part on the analysis, it is determined that the first electrical property of the electronic circuit has changed. Responsive to the determination that the first electrical property of the electronic circuit has changed, it is determined that the conduit is moving or has moved.

摘要: A system for use in the ventilation of a patient, particularly for a patient using a breathing circuit that is connected along with one or more other breathing circuits to a shared ventilator. The system employs a flow control valve on an inspire air line of an individual breathing circuit for that patient, and measures the tidal volume and pressure in the breathing circuit. A controller is provided with a user interface allowing a desired target volumetric measurement to be input. In response, a control signal is calculated and output to the valve causing the air supply on the inspire line to be adjusted until the measured tidal volume matches the desired volume within a given tolerance. In this way, patient safety is improved for a shared ventilator, by tailoring the ventilation on an individual breathing circuit using a single input value.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosure describe a design that isolates concentrated oxygen from electrical and/or flammable components of a ventilator. In an example, ventilator components containing or otherwise interacting with concentrated oxygen are isolated from the electrical equipment and/or drained to an exterior of the housing of the ventilator, in case of a leak. For example, an isolating structure encases the concentrated oxygen-carrying components to prevent concentrated oxygen from inadvertently leaking into the inside of the housing of the ventilator. The isolating structure may be a sleeve. An isolation gas inside the isolating structure may be fluidly coupled with ambient air outside the housing of the ventilator to allow the escape of isolation gas outside of the ventilator housing.

摘要: A tuneable expiration positive airway pressure (TEPAP) apparatus (10) comprises an entrainment valve (12) and a module (14), fluidly coupled with an outlet port (60) of the entrainment valve, for tuning an inspiration-to-expiration pressure transition of the breath cycle. The entrainment valve (12) includes a housing (56), an upstream inlet port (58), a downstream outlet port (60), and a valve (62). The valve (62) enables inspiration airflow between an exterior the housing (56) and the inlet port (58) during inspiration and prevents expiration airflow between the inlet port (58) and the exterior of the housing (56) during expiration. The tuning module (14) facilitates at least one rate-of-change in pressure of the inspiration-to-expiration pressure transition that is non-instantaneous. The at least one non- instantaneous rate of change in pressure is selected from among different non- instantaneous rates-of-change in pressure of the inspiration-to-expiration pressure transition.

摘要: Various implementations of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for characterizing a conduit coupled to a respiratory therapy device in a respiratory therapy system. The method includes generating a first airflow from the respiratory therapy device to the conduit by operating a motor of the respiratory therapy device at a first revolutions per minute. The method further includes receiving a first airflow parameter data associated with the first airflow, wherein the first airflow parameter data has a first pair of two distinct airflow parameter values. The method further includes determining a first relationship between the first airflow parameter data and the conduit, and characterizing the conduit based on the first relationship.

摘要: Respiratory distress apparatuses, systems and methods are described. An example respiratory distress management device includes a housing, and further has a mechanical ventilation apparatus and a controller within the housing. The controller may include a processor and a memory. The controller may be configured to determine whether, at a particular time, a fault mode condition exists. If a fault mode condition is determined not to exist, then the controller may be configured to enable control of the mechanical ventilation apparatus of the respiratory distress management device by a source in delivering mechanical ventilation to a patient, via signals received by the controller from the source. If a fault mode condition is determined to exist, then the controller may be configured to control the mechanical ventilation apparatus of the respiratory distress management device in delivering mechanical ventilation to the patient.
