Compositions including a combination of (meth)acryloyl-terminated monomers and oligomers prepared by co-reacting reactants having active hydrogen groups with an acrylating agent are disclosed. Polymerizates formed using the combinations of (meth)acryloyl-terminated monomers and oligomers exhibit a high hardness, excellent thermomechanical properties, and a high refractive index. The compositions can be used to fabricate optical components.

The invention relates to a polymer derived from: reaction of glycidyl (meth)acrylate, allyl glycidyl ether or [(vinyloxy)methyl]oxirane with ammonia or primary amine to obtain a mixture of monomer compounds; reaction of the mixture of monomer compounds with at least one of acrylic acid, vinyl alcohol, vinyl acetate, acrylamide, methylacrylic acid, and methylacrylamide to obtain an intermediate polymer; and reaction of the intermediate polymer with a dithiocarbamic acid salt. Methods for using the polymer are also described herein.

The present invention relates to addition copolymers of cyclic olefins, and in particular, cyclic olefin copolymers of norbornene type compounds containing sulfur to provide excellent adhesiveness to metal, and methods for using the same. Therefore, the present invention provides addition copolymers of cyclic olefins of norbornene type compounds and norbornene type compounds containing sulfur, and methods for preparing the same. The copolymers of norbornene type compounds containing sulfur of the invention are addition copolymers of cyclic olefins, which are very useful for dielectric materials because of their low dielectric constant, excellent thermal stability, strength, and good adhesiveness to metals without generating any by-products while adhering to metal.
