Abstract:
The invention relates to a novel synthesis method for forming superacid functional molecules that include monomers, as well as new polymers and copolymers formed from the monomers, and uses for these superacid molecules, polymers, and copolymers. The superacid molecules have an alpha, alpha-difluorosulfonic acid functionality that can be obtained by a reaction between various Grignard reagents and an alkyl(2-fluorosulfonyl)-1,1-difluoroacetate, such as methyl (2-fluorosulfonyl-1,1-difluoroacetate. The molecules, polymers and copolymers would be expected to have enhanced ion conductivity, and would be useful in a variety of applications, including as ion-conductive materials, surfactants, and ion exchange resins.
Abstract:
The solution concerns reactive polymers and copolymers based on N-(2hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide, which contain reactive thiazolidine-2-thione groups in side chains of the polymers or at the ends of polymer chains. The solution also includes a method of their preparation and their use for synthesis of polymer drugs and conjugates with proteins and preparation of gene delivery systems.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to radical-curable adhesive compositions which include a (meth)acrylate component; a thermal resistance-conferring component; and a radical cure-inducing composition. Reaction products of the compositions of the compositions of this invention exhibit superior resistance to thermal degradation.
Abstract:
The invention relates to sulfone functionalized prepolymers useful in making high index of refraction optical lenses which have superior hardness and thermal stability. The invention further relates to the resins produced from the prepolymers.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a compound and a process for preparing a compound having at least one perfluorocyclobutane ring and at least two functional groups suitable for forming condensation polymers. Preferably the compound has a structure represented by Formula (II), wherein R and R' independently represent optionally inertly substituted groups; X and X' represent any molecular structures which link R and R' with the perfluorocyclobutane ring; n and n' are integers of at least 1, respectively; and G and G' independently represent any reactive functional group or any group convertible into a reactive functional group. The compound is preferably prepared by a process of thermally dimerizing a trifluorovinyl compound to form a compound of the following Formula (I): Gn-R-X-CF=CF2, wherein G represents G or G' of Formula (II); X represents X or X' of Formula (II); and n represents n or n' of Formula (II), to form a compound having a perfluorocyclobutane group.
