Abstract:
An antimicrobial composition comprises a nonionic surfactant, optionally a terpene-like component, a cationic biocide that is compatible with the nonionic surfactant and the terpene-like component, and a source of alkalinity which ensures a pH of at least 8.5 in the composition. The combination of at least two of the nonionic, cationic and terpene-like components provides a synergystic antimicrobial action that is greater than the additive anti-microbial action of the at least two individual components.
Abstract:
The invention relates to polymer-micelle complex. The polymer-micelle complexes include a positively charged micelle selected from the group consisting of a monomeric quaternary ammonium compound, a monomeric biguanide compound, and mixtures thereof. The positively charged micelle is electrostatically bound to a water-soluble polymer bearing a negative charge. The polymer does not comprise block copolymer, latex particles, polymer nanoparticles, cross-linked, polymers, silicone copolymer, fluorosurfactant, or amphoteric copolymer. The compositions do not form a coacervate, and do not form a film when applied to a surface.
Abstract:
%: 0,2 - 1,0.
Abstract:
The invention concerns the use as surface-active agent of a glucoside alkyl urethane (I) which is composed of units of the general formula (II): A(O-CO-NH-R)S wherein A represents a glucosyl unit of a starch hydrolysate molecule, the starch hydrolysate having a Dextrose Equivalent (D.E.) ranging from 1 to 47, (O-CO-NH-R) represents an N-alkyl aminocarbonyloxy group replacing a hydroxyl group of the glucosyl unit A, and wherein R represents a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl group containing from 3 to 22 carbon atoms, and s represents the number of alkyl carbamate groups per glucosyl unit which number is expressed as degree of substitution (DS) with said DS value ranging from about 0.01 to about 2.0. The invention further relates to novel glucoside alkyl urethanes (I), and a method for their manufacture and to compositions containing one or more of glucoside alkyl urethanes (I). The glucoside alkyl urethanes (I) have good to excellent tensio-active properties in combination with good biodegrability and they are suitable as surfactants for use in household and industrial applications, e.g. as detergents, emulsifiers, emulsion stabilisers, foaming agents, foam stabilisers, dispersants and wetting agents.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to monomeric and polymeric compositions based upon polymeric urethane surfactants which are derived from linear, branched, or aromatic compounds of synthetic or natural origin, preferably from tertiary amines and diisocyanate compounds. The urethane polymers of the present invention may be in the form of betaines, quaternium salts, tertiary amine salts or N-oxides. The compounds of the present invention may be incorporated into personal care formulations such as cosmetics, dental care products and toiletries to improve at least one and preferably two or more characteristics of such formulations.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing moulded detergent and cleaning agent compositions characterized in that they present both elevated hardness and thus transport and handling stability and excellent decomposition properties. These advantageous properties are achieved by the fact that the moulded compositions contain a surface-active granulate containing urea.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for and an improved method of removing all types of biologically-generated soiling. The invention is concerned with the removal of the biological source of the soiling without resorting to the type of chemical activity generally associated with desinfection. In particular the invention concerns the removal from surfaces of algae and similar organisms, including many organisms which secrete substances for purpose of securing the organism to a surface.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of 3-iodine-2-propinyl-carbamates as antimicrobial, especially antimycotic, active agents in washing agents, cleaning agents, hand washing agents, hand washing-up liquids, washing-up liquids for dishwashers and agents for finishing textiles, furs or leather.
