Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may communicate with a UE via one or more transmission reception points (TRPs). A UE may receive, from a base station, control signaling identifying a set of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) configurations. The UE may receive, from the base station, control signaling activating a first DMRS configuration and a second DMRS configuration. The UE may receive an indication for the UE to use a first transmission mode of a set of transmission modes to communicate with multiple TRPs of the base station. The UE may select at least one of the first DMRS configuration or the second DMRS configuration based on the indicated first transmission mode and a pre-defined logical associations. The UE may then receive DMRS signals from the TRPs of the base station, according to the selected at least one of the first DMRS configuration or the second DMRS configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiving device (e.g., a base station and/or a user equipment) may receive, over a control channel, a first control signal identifying first scheduling information for a data transmission to the receiving device. The receiving device may determine a number of resource elements of a shared channel for a second control signal based at least in part on a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table associated with the second control signal. The receiving device may receive, over the resource elements of the shared channel and based at least in part on the first control signal, the second control signal identifying second scheduling information for the data transmission. The receiving device may decode the second control signal based at least in part on the first MCS table.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided for improved transport block size (TBS) indication and channel quality indicator (CQI) reporting for lower target block error ratios (BLERs). In an example implementation, the method may include a user equipment configuring a plurality of transport block sizes, activating one or more transport block sizes of the plurality of transport block sizes, and determining a first transport block size from an indication received from a network node when more than one transport block sizes of the one or more transport block sizes are activated. The method may further include determining, a second transport block size, the second transport block size determined based at least on the one or more transport block sizes that are activated and the first transport block size, and receiving a downlink transmission from the network node with the second transport block size. In an additional example implementation, the method may include a user equipment determining a channel quality indicator based at least on a physical downlink shared channel received from a network node and transmitting the channel quality indicator to the network node.

In one aspect of the disclosure, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a network entity, a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) that includes downlink control information (DCI) and that does not include any media access control (MAC) header.
