    Abstract: A light beam that is emitted from a center of display surface (111) and reaches a center of a viewing area is referred to as reference light beam (Lc). An intersection of reference light beam (Lc) with reflective surface (121a) of first reflective element (121) is referred to as reference intersection point (121c). A plane including reference light beam (Lc) incident on first reflective element (121) and reference light beam (Lc) reflected by first reflective element (121) is referred to as a reference plane. An intersection line of reflective surface (121a) of first reflective element (121) with the reference plane is referred to as reference intersection line (Bc). A tangent plane of reflective surface (121a) of first reflective element (121) at reference intersection point (121c) is referred to as reference tangent plane (170). Respective heights from two points, vertically upper point (170u) and vertically lower point (1701), which are equidistant from reference intersection point (121c) on reference tangent plane (170), to reflective surface (121a) of first reflective element (121) are referred to as a sag. When perpendiculars (121u, 1211) intersect with reference intersection line (Bc), a sag at point (1701) is greater than a sag at point (170u).

    Abstract: A head-up display according to the present disclosure is mounted to a vehicle having a windshield and allows an observer to visually recognize a virtual image. The head-up display includes a display element configured to display an image, a reflection optical system configured to reflect the image displayed by the display element and project the image onto the windshield, and a refraction optical system disposed between the reflection optical system and the windshield and having optical power. The reflection optical system reflects the image toward the refraction optical system. The head-up display is configured such that a position where a center optical path of the image emitted from the display element is incident on the refraction optical system is located at a side of the windshield of the vehicle relative to a center axis of the refraction optical system.

    Abstract: A head-up display is mounted to a vehicle having a windshield, and includes a display element configured to display an image, a first optical system configured to reflect the image displayed by the display element and project the image onto the windshield; and a second optical system configured to reflect the image displayed by the display element and project the image onto the windshield.
