Abstract: This invention relates to a lubricating oil composition, comprising: (A) a base oil; and a phosphorus-containing compound represented by the formulaewherein in Formulae (B-I) and (B-II), R , R and R are independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl groups, and a, b and c are independently zero or 1; the lubricating oil composition being characterized by a sulfur content of about 0.01 to about 0.25% by weight.

Abstract: The present invention is able to provide a lubricating oil composition having excellent thermal/chemical stability even when used for a compression refrigerating machine using a saturated fluorinated hydrocarbon refrigerant having a low carbon number and a low global warming potential, by using a refrigerant containing a saturated fluorinated hydrocarbon having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, which uses, as a base oil, an oxygen-containing organic compound composed of at least one member selected from a polyoxyalkylene glycol, a polyvinyl ether, a copolymer of a poly(oxy)alkylene glycol and a polyvinyl ether, a copolymer of a poly(oxy)alkylene glycol monoether and a polyvinyl ether, and a polyol ester, each having a water content of not more than 500 ppm by mass.

Abstract: Combining a metal based friction modifier, such as a molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate, and certain esters of hydroxy carboxylic acids, such as short chain alkyl esters of citric or tartaric acid, e.g., tributyl citrate, has a synergistic effect on lowering the friction coefficient of lubricating oils allowing one to reduce the amount of metal based friction modifier needed to adequately formulate a lubricant with low friction characteristics.

Abstract: A lubricant composition for use in a rotary vane compressor has a base oil component that comprises an alkylbenzene as a major component thereof and a polyol ester as a minor component thereof. In particular, the base oil component comprises at least 55% by weight of alkylbenzene and at most 45% by weight of a polyol ester, more preferably between 55% and 75% by weight of alkylbenzene and between 45% and 25% by weight of polyol ester and, especially, between 60% and 75% by weight of alkyl benzene and between 45% and 25% by weight of polyol ester.

Abstract: The invention provides a grease composition for rolling bearings of automotive electrical equipment or automotive auxiliaries, where a base oil contains as an essential component an alkyldiphenyl ether oil; a thickener is a diurea compound represented by the following formula (1): (wherein R 2 is a diphenylmethane group; and R 1 and R 3 , which may be the same or different represent an aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms); and an anti-flaking additive that contains an organic sulfonate rust inhibitor and a load carrying additive. The grease composition of the invention can extend the bearing lubrication life even at elevated temperatures and exhibit excellent anti-flaking properties, so that the grease composition can be enclosed in the rolling bearings of automotive electrical equipment or automotive auxiliaries.
