    摘要： A network manager, when a transmission is requested from any FA equipment under control by the network manager, sets a flag indicating a loop direction for transmission in a transmission frame and transmits the transmission frame to other stations, and when network controllers receive the transmission frame with a flag indicating the loop direction set therein, the network controllers check whether the loop through which the transmission frame was actually received is the same as that indicated by the flag in the received transmission frame or not, and if it is determined that the loop through which the transmission frame was actually received is different from that indicated by the flag above, the network controllers send the transmission frame including an error report indicating the loop direction to the network manager.

    摘要： A card reader 9 is loaded with a card which saves units of call credit. The card is capable of holding the telephone number of desired party registered by means of a controller circuit 16. For making a call, the telephone number is read out from the card and used in a dialing circuit 3 for automatic dialing. During the call, the call credit units are counted down according to a charge list for the party. Also, a language used for display on a liquid crystal display 8 and an amplitude of volume adjusted in the call may be registered in the card. When the call credit units are less than a reference level, a message of demanding the loading of a new card appears on the display 8. As the new card is loaded in place of the current card, the call can be continued without interruption. At the time, relevant data including the telephone number of party to be called and the displayed language are automatically transferred from the current card to the new card. Accordingly, the automatic dialing is implemented for calling and communicating with a desired party without the use of an extra facility at a local station.

    摘要： Disclosed is a driving circuit for an electro-absorption optical modulator for outputting intensity-modulated signal light by receiving carrier light from a light source and absorbing the carrier light in dependence upon a driving voltage. The driving circuit includes a driving unit for applying a pulsed driving voltage to an electro-absorption optical modulator, and a variable impedance unit connected in parallel with the electro-absorption optical modulator for matching impedance with respect to the driving unit. The impedance of the variable impedance unit is switched to one value when the driving voltage is applied to the electro-absorption optical modulator and to another value when the driving voltage is not applied to the electro-absorption optical modulator so as to match impedance with respect to the driving unit.
