The invention concerns a method for preparing a multiple emulsion comprising an invert emulsion consisting of an internal aqueous phase dispersed in an internal organic phase, dispersed in an external aqueous phase: the internal aqueous phase comprising optionally at least a hydrophilic active substance; the internal organic phase comprising optionally at least a hydrophobic active substance; the invert emulsion comprising at least an internal surfactant and/or at least an internal amphiphilic polymer; the external aqueous phase comprising optionally at least a hydrophilic active substance and at least an external surfactant and/or an external amphiphilic polymer. The inventive method is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: a) preparing the invert emulsion; b) preparing the external aqueous phase; c) introducing the external aqueous phase in the invert emulsion, without stirring; d) stirring the whole emulsion; e) optionally diluting the resulting concentrated multiple emulsion, by adding while stirring, a diluting aqueous phase comprising at least an external surfactant and/or at least an external amphiphilic polymer so as to obtain a diluted multiple emulsion.

The process comprises removing of insoluble matter from the heave alkylate, addition of emulsifier, additives, coupling agent and co-surfactant, homogenizing the mixture at 20 - 120°C, followed by conditioning of the metal working fluid concentrate which can be used as emulsion in water.

This invention describes a refrigerating oil composition for natural substance-based refrigerants which comprises (A) a synthetic oil component comprising a polyether compound having a pour point of -10 DEG C or lower and (B) a mineral oil component comprising sulfur components, wherein the ratio of amounts by weight of component (A) to component (B) is in the range of 25:75 to 99:1 and the amount of the sulfur components derived from component (B) in the composition is in the range of 5 to 1,000 ppm. The refrigerating oil composition has excellent miscibility with natural substance-based refrigerants and, in particular, with ammonia-based refrigerants, exhibits an improved lubricity and used for industrial refrigerators using natural substance-based refrigerants such as ammonia, propane, butane and carbon dioxide.

An ashless additive formulation, particularly suited for hydraulic oil applications, comprising a particular concentration of a monothiophosphate ester and a dithiophosphate ester was found to have improved performance properties and good compatibility with calcium containing packages. Lubricating compositions employing these monothiophosphate and dithiophosphate esters allow for low phosphorous content lubricating oil compositions.
