摘要:
A bolt-on replacement intake manifold has an asymmetrical plenum with a first end including an inlet, a closed terminal end, a concave top surface and a convex bottom surface; a flange; and a plurality of runners extending from the bottom surface of the plenum and terminating at the flange. The plenum defines an interior space in flow communication with the runners. The bottom surface of the plenum is wider than the top surface. The plenum initially widens from the inlet to the first runner and then begins to narrow from the first runner toward the last runner adjacent to the closed terminal end. The runners are tapered, curved, and vary in length. The intake manifold causes air to exit each of the plurality of runners at substantially the same angle. The manifold balances airflow across each runner and increases swirl inside the cylinders enhancing fuel economy, power output, and torque.

An intake air supply construction for an engine includes an intake pipe 6 through which intake air passes, an intake manifold 2 that is connected to the intake pipe 6 so as to induce the intake air into a plurality of intake ports that are aligned in a cylinder head and an intercooler 15 that is incorporated in the intake manifold 2 so as to cool the intake air. The intake manifold 2 has an inlet 21 that is provided to lie closer to one side surface 2a of two side surfaces 2a, 2b that intersect an aligning direction L of the intake ports. The intake pipe 6 is connected to the intake manifold 2 in such a state that an axis center of a downstream end portion 6A thereof is inclined in a direction in which the axis center moves towards the other side surface 2b as the axis center extends towards a downstream side of the flow of the intake air.

This anomaly determination system is provided with an inlet pressure sensor (31) which detects the inlet pressure of a pressure loss unit (26) provided in the fluid passage (25) in a vehicle, an outlet pressure sensor (32) which detects the outlet pressure of the pressure loss unit (26), an atmospheric pressure sensor (33) which detects the atmospheric pressure, which is the pressure outside of the fluid passage (25), and an anomaly determination unit (35) which determines anomalies in the pressure loss unit (26). The anomaly determination unit (35) determines that there is an anomaly in the pressure loss unit (26) if the difference between the inlet and outlet pressure, the difference between the outlet and atmospheric pressure, and the difference between the outside and inlet pressure, detected when the flow rate in the fluid passage (25) is less than the minimum flow rate at which anomalies in the pressure loss unit (26) are detectable, are within an allowable range, and the pressure difference between the inlet pressure and outlet pressure when the flow rate is greater than or equal to the minimum flow rate is within a first pressure loss range.

A system for cooling charge air and excess fuel for a turbocharged diesel engine includes a charge air cooler having an inlet body, a heat exchanger that is disposed downstream from the inlet body and an outlet body that is disposed downstream from the heat exchanger. The outlet body defines a flow passage in fluid communication with the heat exchanger. The system further includes a fuel passage that is in thermal communication with the flow passage of the outlet body. A method for cooling excess fuel from the turbocharge diesel engine is also disclosed herein.

In an air pollution control device, a ship, and a water supply method, an exhaust gas recirculation line (G4), a scrubber (42), an air cooler (52), and a drain water supply line (W4) are provided. Through the exhaust gas recirculation line (G4), a part of an exhaust gas discharged from a marine diesel engine (11) is compressed by a turbocharger (21) and recirculated to the marine diesel engine (11) as combustion air. The scrubber (42) injects water into the exhaust gas which flows through the exhaust gas recirculation line (G4) to remove a toxic substance. The air cooler (52) cools a mixture gas compressed by a compressor (22). The mixture gas is obtained by mixing air and a recirculation gas which has been subjected to the removal of a toxic substance by the scrubber (42). Through the drain water supply line (W4), drain water generated by the cooling of the exhaust gas by the air cooler (52) is supplied to the scrubber (42). With the configuration, an increase in size and cost of the device can be suppressed by effectively using treated water.

A control device for a diesel engine includes a variable geometry supercharger with a variable supercharge pressure mechanism and an EGR valve configured to adjust an EGR gas amount. In the control device, when the diesel engine is determined to be accelerating, a maximum exhaust pressure is set such that an increased amount of an engine torque by increasing a fuel injection amount in association with acceleration is greater than an increased amount of pumping loss increased with increasing exhaust pressure due to an actuation of the variable supercharge pressure mechanism in association with acceleration. A target control variable for the variable supercharge pressure mechanism and a target control variable for the EGR valve are controlled on the basis of the maximum exhaust pressure.
