In addition, each of the magnetic sensor arrays may include a circuit (650) for sensing a magnetic field generated by a magnetic source coupled to the bone of the patient. Each circuit may include one or more magnetic sensors, a processing circuit, an angle sensor (662), a distance sensor (666), and a transmitter. The magnetic sensors and processing circuit cooperate to determine a position of the magnetic source. The angle sensor, distance sensor, and processing circuit cooperate to determine a displacement of the magnetic sensor array from a reference point. The processing circuit controls the transmitter to transmit data indicative of the position of the magnetic source.
