摘要: Image data can be obtained with an imaging device. A location of the imaging device relative to a subject can be determined. A location of an instrument can be tracked relative to the subject using two or more tracking systems operating with different tracking modalities. Also, the tracked location of the instrument can be illustrated relative to the image data.

摘要: A control unit for controlling a ventilator that provides EMG controlled ventilation to a patient receives EMG signals from an esophageal catheter inserted into the patient and selects, dependent on the EMG signal, at least one signal for controlling the ventilator. A user interface unit operates by the control unit indicates the position of the catheter relative to the patient's diaphragm based on the selected signal. The position information may be presented in relation to signal curves representing the catheter signal or as an elongate vertical shape representing the catheter, the display unit being operated to indicate on the elongate vertical shape the position of the diaphragm.

摘要: Described embodiments include apparatus for use with a catheter. The apparatus includes a sheath configured for insertion into a body of a subject, and a sensor, coupled to the sheath, configured to detect an electric current passing through the catheter, when the catheter passes through the sheath and into the body of the subject. Other embodiments are also described.

摘要: There is provided a method of estimating a position of a handheld personal care device relative to a user of the handheld personal care device, the method comprising obtaining one or both of (i) measurements of a weight distribution of the user in a predetermined area over time and (ii) measurements of a torque imparted to the predetermined area by one or both feet of the user over time; and estimating the position of the handheld personal care device relative to the user using the obtained measurements and based on a predetermined relationship between the weight distribution and/or the torque imparted and the position of the handheld personal care device relative to the user.

摘要: An object of the invention is to acquire both positional information and surrounding environment information of an insert in a photoacoustic image generation apparatus and the insert.
A puncture needle (15) is at least partially inserted into a subject. An optical fiber (153) guides light with a first wavelength and an optical fiber (154) guides light with a second wavelength. The light guided by the optical fiber (153) is emitted from a first light emitting portion (153a) and the light guided by the optical fiber (154) is emitted from a second light emitting portion (154a). A light absorption member (51) absorbs the light with the first wavelength emitted from the first light emitting portion (153a) to generate photoacoustic waves and transmits the light with the second wavelength emitted from the second light emitting portion (154a).-

摘要: Methods and system perform tool tracking during minimally invasive robotic surgery. Tool states are determined using triangulation techniques or a Bayesian filter from either or both non-endoscopically derived and endoscopically derived tool state information, or from either or both non-visually derived and visually derived tool state information. The non- endoscopically derived tool state information is derived from sensor data provided either by sensors associated with a mechanism for manipulating the tool, or sensors capable of detecting identifiable signals emanating or reflecting from the tool and indicative of its position, or external cameras viewing an end of the tool extending out of the body. The endoscopically derived tool state information is derived from image data provided by an endoscope inserted in the body so as to view the tool.
