摘要: A logarithmic amplifier (11) having a large input range first detects the level of the baseband signal on the input side of a variable gain amplifier circuit (8). Based on the detected level, a control section (13) performs coarse feedfoward control of the gain of the variable gain amplifier circuit (8). A root-mean-square circuit (14) determines the output level of an A/D converter (10) and supplies it to the control section (13). Based on the detected level, the control section (13) performs fine feedback control of the variable gain amplifier (8).

摘要: A multilayer substrate module to which an external ground node (20) supplies a reference ground potential (Vss) includes a plurality of ground lines (170-1, 170-2, 170-3), which correspond to a plurality of internal circuits (210, 220, 230), respectively. A common node (Ncmn) for joining the ground lines (170-1, 170-2, 170-3) is provided in an insulating layer (105C) in the multilayer substrate module. The common node (Ncmn) is coupled electrically to the ground node (20) through a ground pin terminal (204) shared among the internal circuits (210, 220, 230). The common node (Ncmn) is provided preferably in the lowermost insulating layer in the multilayer substrate module (120). The parasitic inductance appearing in a ground current path and shared among the internal circuits (210, 220, 230) can be decreased using fewer ground pin terminals. Therefore, the ground current path is prevented from being circuitous among the internal circuits (210, 220, 23O), resulting in stabilized operation.

摘要: A portable telephone provided with a receiving circuit of direct conversion type has a passive low-pass filter (32) for filtering the interference waves of the channels other than the channel of concern and its adjacent channel interposed between an I-channel mixer (28) and a baseband circuit (36) and a passive low-pass filter (34) for filtering the interference waves of the channels other than the channel of concern and its adjacent channel interposed between a Q-channel mixer (30) and a baseband circuit (36). These low-pass filters (32, 34) are of differential type, so that their circuit scales are small and have low power consumptions. The interference waves are filtered by the passive low-pass filters (32, 34) and active low-pass filters (56, 58), so that only desired channels can be reliably received.

摘要: A cellular telephone comprises a direct conversion receiver circuit (14) using even-harmonic quadrature mixer (24), and high-pass filters (56, 58, 64, 66) for removing DC offset components before and behind variable-gain amplifiers (60, 62) in a baseband circuit (30). The DC components appearing in the even-harmonic quadrature mixer (24) is constant, while the DC components appearing in the variable-gain amplifiers (60, 62) change with time. Therefore, the cutoff frequency of the high-pass filters (64, 66) in the back stage is set higher than the cutoff frequency (fc1) of the high-pass filters (56, 58) in the front stage so that the transient response may be fast.

摘要: A radio terminal device has a transmission circuit (10), an isolator (11), a band-pass filter (12), a changeover switch (13), a transmission antenna (14), a receiving circuit (20), a band-pass filter (21), a changeover switch (22), a receiving antenna (23), a high-pass filter (31), a low-pass filter (32), and an input/output port (41). A transmission wave of a frequency (f1) is transmitted from the transmission circuit (10) to the input/output port (41) through the isolator (11), the band-pass filter (12) and the low-pass filter (32) and is further transmitted to an on-board antenna. In this case, the transmission wave in the direction to the receiving circuit (20) is cut off by the high-pass filter (31). On the other hand, a receiving wave of a frequency (f2) from the on-board antenna is transmitted to the input/output port (41) and then transmitted to the receiving circuit (20) through the high-pass filter (31) and the band-pass filter (21). In this case, the receiving wave in the direction to the transmission circuit (10) is cut off by the low-pass filter (32). Thus, since transmission and reception can be simultaneously carried out through the single input/output port (41), the compatibility with a typical radio terminal device for simultaneously carrying out transmission and reception by one common antenna for transmission and reception is obtained.
