摘要: A sensing system (100) comprising an illumination module (108), a cartridge (102) with photonic sensor chip (110; 200; 300), and a cartridge holder (104) for locking the cartridge into a sensing position. The photonic sensor chip comprises a plurality of grating couplers (202; 302) in a first areal portion (303) and a plurality of sensing sites (204), and is aligned relative to the illumination module up to permitted alignment tolerances when the cartridge is locked into the sensing position. A permitted amount of longitudinal misalignment (δx) and lateral misalignment (δy) define a peripheral portion (304) of the photonic sensor chip, surrounding the first areal portion. The illumination module is arranged to illuminate a second areal portion (301) of the photonic sensor chip, when the sensor cartridge is locked into the sensing position. The second areal portion fully includes the first areal portion and at least partially includes the peripheral portion.

摘要: The present invention provides an anti-corrosion composition for a metal surface, especially of pre-stressing steel, the anti-corrosion composition being thixotropic and comprising an organic component which is an oil, fat or wax. The anti-corrosion composition of the invention is characterized in that it is translucent and also comprises an indicator which responds to corrosion of the metal surface by changing its absorption spectrum in the region of ultra-violet, visible or infra-red light, in particular with a colour change. Further provided in accordance with the invention are a metal structure bearing the anti-corrosion composition of the invention, an apparatus on the metal structure, and a method for checking the metal structure.

摘要: The present invention relates to a system for biodetection applications comprising two basic elements, a substrate with a functionalized surface and a nanoparticle, the system being capable of enhancing the plasmonic effect of the nanoparticle. The invention also relates to a biosensor incorporating such system, in addition to the method for detecting and quantifying a target analyte selected in a sample using such system. Finally, the invention relates to a device which can detect the enhanced optoplasmonic effect of the nanoparticles by means of the system of the invention or by combining the detection of such optoplasmonic effect with the analysis of the changes in the mechanical characteristics in the substrate.
