Disclosed herein is an immunoassay method for detecting the detection target antigen in an analyte through extraction with an extraction agent. The method is characterized in that the detection is performed in the presence of a cyclic oligosaccharide. The method is also characterized in the use of an immunochromatography kit for detecting gram-positive bacteria in an analyte, and that is configured from an analyte dilution solution, a sample dropping part, an antigen extracting part, a labeling substance retaining part, an immunochromatography medium having a detection part, and an absorption part, and in which an organic acid is retained in the antigen extracting part. The immunochromatography kit contains a cyclic oligosaccharide and a nitrite compound by containing at least one of a cyclic oligosaccharide, a nitrite compound, and a mixture thereof in the analyte dilution solution and/or the sample dropping part.

A method for analyzing intracellular components characterized by involving the following steps; and kits containing (a) an extractant, (b) a branched dextrin or its derivative, and (c) a reagent for analyzing intracellular components: (1) the step of adding the extractant to a sample containing cells to thereby extract intracellular components; (2) the step of adding the branched dextrin or its derivative to the sample containing the extractant; and (3) the step of analyzing the thus extracted intracellular components. The use of the branched dextrin or its derivative makes it possible to prevent the extractant from inhibiting the analysis steps.

There is disclosed a composition which reduces the turbidity of samples of artificial or naturally occurring biological fluids comprising: a buffering agent; a nonionic surfactant; alpha-cyclodextrin; a lipase; and water. The composition provides a catalyst for hydrolysing and agents which hydrolyze triglycerides present in the sample to glycerol and free fatty acids. Also present in the composition is a complexing agent or agents to render the catalyzed fatty acids water-soluble.

A method is provided for detecting a protein using a cyclodextrin covalently linked to at least one label. The cyclodextrin can associate with the protein by sequestering an aromatic amino acid side-chain of the protein in its hydrophobic cavity. After contacting the protein with the cyclodextrin, the label can be detected directly or can undergo a chemical interaction with a reagent to form a detectable product. The label can include an indole moiety, which can react with a halo-substituted organic compound upon exposure to UV light and thereby be rendered fluorescent. Alternatively, the label can include a biotin moiety, which can bind to a binding partner such as avidin, or variants thereof, to form a detectable molecular complex.
