Abstract:
A method and apparatus for a mobile device (104) to register with a private home agent (106), the method comprising the steps: generating (304) and sending (306) a registration request (700) addressed in the public network (110) to a public address of the private home agent, the request (700) adapted to initiate registration of the mobile device with the private home agent. The mobile device is located within a public network, but belongs to a private network (102) and has a private address. The private home agent is located in the private network and has both a private address and a public address. The request also indicates that the mobile device is in the public network. In preferred form, the request includes an extension (704) that provides this indication. The home agent receives and processes the request, then forwards an appropriate reply (800) back to the mobile device.
Abstract:
A device, method, system and computer readable medium allows for simultaneously attaching multiple APNs in a WAN, having a cellular network, to a short distance wireless network. In an embodiment of the present invention, a device, such as a cellular telephone, includes a processor and memory to store a software component for simultaneously attaching to multiple APNs providing services to a short distance wireless network responsive to a terminal in the short distance wireless network communicating with the device. In an embodiment of the present invention, the communicating includes receiving a short-range radio message including a destination address, such as an IP address and port number, identifying the selected APN.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and system enable a mobile device to roam while maintaining a persistent IP tunnel. Specifically, a mobile router may be utilized to enable a mobile device to maintain a persistent IP tunnel while the device roams. In one embodiment, the mobile device is a virtual host and the mobile router is a virtual mobile router.
Abstract:
A wireless data card includes: a detecting module, adapted to send a notification message to an executing module after detecting a DNS resolution request sent by a computer and detecting that no user account information exists in the wireless data card; and an executing module, adapted to: receive the notification message sent by the detecting module, send prompt information to the computer so as to prompt a user to input the user account information, and write the input user account information into the wireless data card so that the computer can use the user account information to access the Internet through the wireless data card. A working method of the wireless data card is disclosed. The wireless data card and the working method of the wireless data card avoid the inconvenience caused by loss of the driver CD-ROM, work at a low cost, and require no extra memory.
Abstract:
An inside-realm node (A) that wants to connect to an outside-realm node (B) through an intermediate gateway (30) requests central configuration from a gateway resource manager (40). In response to the configuration request initiated from the inside-realm node, an outside-realm gateway address and an inside node port number are centrally allocated to the inside-realm node by resource allocation logic (42). Establishment of the connection is initiated at least partly based an the allocated address and port number by means of appropriate signaling with the gateway (30). The allocated address and port number are signaled back to the requesting inside-realm node in a configuration reply, allowing the inside-realm node to configure its communication interface accordingly. The central allocation of socket parameters for the inside-realm node is preferably performed based on predetermined connection information, which is included in or derivable, for example by means of the name-to-address translator (50), from the initial configuration request.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the communication field, and in particular, to a method for enabling an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) host to access an Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) host, a method for obtaining an IPv6 address prefix, and a translation apparatus. The method includes: obtaining, by a source host, an address prefix used for translating an IPv4 address into an IPv6 address; and translating, by a source host, an IPv4 address into an IPv6 address. The translation apparatus includes: a prefix obtaining unit and an address translating unit. The prefix obtaining unit is adapted to obtain an address prefix used for translating an IPv4 address into an IPv6 address, and the address translating unit is adapted to perform translation between IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for allowing a Mobile IPv4 Mobile Node (2) to communicate from an IPv6 visited network (5), and across IPv6 networks, back to a Mobile IPv4 Home Agent (1), in a Mobile IPv4 Network (4), comprising: - a Mobile Node supporting Mobile IPv4 registration procedures including IPv6 addressing details to support MN - HA communication; - a Home Agent supporting connectivity to both IPv4 and IPv6 networks to facilitate remote access; - tunneling of IPv4 traffic over IPv6 networks from the Mobile Node; - tunneling of Mobile IPv4 traffic over IPv6 networks from the Home Agent.
