Abstract:
The present invention relates to recombinant N-glycosylated proteins, comprising one or more introduced N-glycosylated optimized amino acid sequence(s), pharmaceutical compositions comprising said proteins as well as corresponding vectors and host cells. In addition, the present invention provides methods for producing said proteins.
Abstract:
The present inventors succeeded in cloning the CDT genes of C. coli and C. fetus, which were previously unknown, and in determining their sequences. In addition, the inventors also developed specific primers and primers common to the two species by comparing the CDTs of C. jejuni and C. fetus. Furthermore, the inventors demonstrated that these primers were applicable to multiplex PCR that simultaneously allows for the rapid and convenient determination of the presence of Campylobacter CDT and identification of species, and that they can also be used in PCR-RFLP-based typing.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to surface-located polypeptides of Campylobacter jejuni and their use in vaccination against Campylobacter. The invention furthermore relates to the use in vaccination of polynucleotides, expression vectors, recombinant viruses or recombinant cells expressing these surface-located polypeptides. Moreover, the invention relates to the use of antibodies against the surface-located polypeptides for anti-Campylobacter therapy. Finally, methods for detection of Campylobacter and for identifying anti-Campylobacter agents through the surface-located polypeptides is disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel recombinant live vaccines, which provide protective immunity against an infection by Helicobacter pylori and a method of screening H. pylori antigens for optimized vaccines.
Abstract:
The present invention relates i.a. to nucleic acid sequences encoding novel Lawsonia intracellularis proteins. It furthermore relates to DNA fragments, recombinant DNA molecules and live recombinant carriers comprising these sequences. Also it relates to host cells comprising such nucleic acid sequences, DNA fragments, recombinant DNA molecules and live recombinant carriers. Moreover, the invention relates to proteins encoded by these nucleotide sequences. The invention also relates to vaccines for combating Lawsonia intracellularis infections and methods for the preparation thereof. Finally the invention relates to diagnostic tests for the detection of Lawsonia intracellularis DNA, the detection of Lawsonia intracellularis antigens and of antibodies against Lawsonia intracellularis.
Abstract:
Nucleic acids encoding Campylobacter proteins, in particular antigenic proteins such as a flagellin, or encoding a variant thereof, or a fragment of either of these, are capable of protecting poultry such as chickens, against colonisation by Campylobacter, and so may be used in veterinary therapy or prophylaxis. This has an impact on human health.
Abstract:
A nucleic acid sequence encoding all or part of an 18-19 kDa Helicobacter pylori protein is described to which immunoreactivity is detected in H. pylori negative individuals. A process for the production of a recombinant form of this protein and its use, particularly as a vaccine to provide immunological protection against H. pylori infection are also described.
