    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title membrane having good oxygen permeability and oxygen permselectivity, by using a high-molecular compound wherein a part of the phenolic hydroxyl groups thereof is substituted with an alkyl group or a compound comprising a silicon-oxygen bond. CONSTITUTION:A part of the hydroxyl groups of polyhydroxystyrene is converted to a sodium salt from and partially alkylated by using 1- bromohexadecane, lauryl bromide or butyl bromide. Polydimethylsiloxane is reached with this alkylated polyhydroxystyrene and a part or all of remaining hydroxyl groups are silicified. The oxygen transmission coefficient of the obtained polymer is 1.04-1.75X10 cccm/cm seccmHg and the separation coefficient is 2.31-2.46. The polymerization degree of polydimethylsiloxane to be used may be in a range of 3-60. As the alkylating agent, one of 4-22C may be used.
