PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide muscle-derived progenitor cells showing long-term survival transplantation into body tissues and which can augment soft tissue introduction via injection, transplantation, or implantation into a site of soft tissue.SOLUTION: There is provided use of a composition comprising: (i) isolated muscle-derived progenitor cells having long-term survivability in situ, wherein the muscle-derived progenitor cells express cell markers comprising at least desmin, CD34, Bcl-2, Sca-1 and Flk-1, and do not express CD45 and c-Kit cell markers; and (ii) a physiologically-acceptable carrier, excipient, or diluent, for the manufacture of a medicament for use in augmenting or bulking non muscle soft tissue in a mammal, wherein the composition is present in an amount sufficient to augment or bulk the non-muscle soft tissue. The non-muscle soft tissue is selected from the group consisting of digestive, reproductive, cardiovascular, urological, neural, respiratory, epithelial, dermal and connective tissue.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bone tissue regeneration sheet having a cortical bone tissue layer of 200 μm or more in thickness. SOLUTION: This bone tissue regeneration sheet is produced by seeding chondroblast or stem cells for differentiating to chondrocyte on one side of a sheet-like porous body composed of bioabsorbable synthetic polymer, taking the seeded porous body into a culture medium, applying acceleration of 100 to 1000 G to the culture medium for a predetermined time so as to aggregate the chondroblast or the stem cells for differentiating to chondrocyte, culturing the aggregated cells in a culture medium not containing serum but containing one or two or more kinds selected from ascorbic acid, an ascorbic acid derivative, and dexamethasone without applying acceleration to form a chondrocyte layer having a thickness of 200 μm or more, and culturing the chondrocyte layer in a culture medium containing serum and endochondrally ossifying it to form the cortical bone tissue layer of 200 μm in thickness. The invention is directed to compositions and methods for reconstructing artificial female reproductive organs. The constructs and methods of the invention can be used for ameliorating congenital malformations and disorders of female reproductive tract using tissue engineered female reproductive organs, such as the uterus, vagina, cervix, and fallopian tubes. These tissue engineered female reproductive organs can be generated by perfusing cultured cell populations derived from cells of the female reproductive tissues, such as uterine, vaginal, cervical, fallopian tube epithelial cells as well as smooth muscle cells.
