PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for refining 3,3'-dinitro-4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether with high productivity applicable as an industrial production method.SOLUTION: A crude product of 3,3'-dinitro-4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether is subjected to suspension washing with acetone or an acetone aqueous solution. The resulting suspension is filtered, washed and dried to obtain a 3,3'-dinitro-4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether composition reduced in the content of impurities.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate which is excellent in appearance quality by applying good liquid-repellent treatment in a process of fabricating reflection dots on a back surface of a translucent resin sheet using an ink jet type printer.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a light guide plate includes: a translucent resin sheet which has a light emission surface and an opposite back surface; and a plurality of reflection dots which are provided in the back surface of the translucent resin sheet. The method comprises, in this order: a liquid-repellent processing step of making the back surface liquid-repellent using a plasma processing apparatus; a pattern printing step of printing photo-curing type ink in a dot shape by an ink-jet type printer; and a pattern curing step of photo-curing the ink to form reflection dots. The plasma processing apparatus has an electric discharge chamber equipped with a pair of electrode pairs, and the sheet is introduced between the electrode pairs and is made to be liquid-repellent by applying plasma processing, in a state that pressure in the electric discharge room is under atmospheric pressure, and oxygen concentration in the electric discharge room is 800 ppm or less.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for atmospheric pressure plasma treatment, capable of suppressing abnormal discharge and deterioration in an insulating film upon application of high voltage, and also capable of increasing a surface treatment effect.SOLUTION: There are provided: an atmospheric pressure plasma treatment device which includes a pair of electrodes arranged to face each other on an outer peripheral surface of an insulator pipe and an insulating film disposed on the outer peripheral surface of an insulator pipe, the insulating film comprising a fluorine-based resin; and an atmospheric plasma treatment method using the atmospheric plasma treatment device.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenolic oligomer useful as a new phenolic curing agent having excellent flame retardancy in combination of heat resistance superior to that of known phenolic curing agents, and to provide a composition and a cured product obtained by using the curing agent.SOLUTION: There are provided a phenolic oligomer comprising a reaction product obtained by reacting a phenolic compound expressed by general formula (1) with 0.2-5.0 times mol of benzoquinones based on the molar number of a crosslinking group X of the compound of general formula (1), wherein a component having a molecular weight equal to the sum of the molecular weight of the phenolic compound and the molecular weight of the benzoquinones is observable by mass spectrometry measurement (FD-MS) of the reaction product; an epoxy resin curing agent composed of the oligomer; and a composition and a cured product produced by using the curing agent.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for treating powder, capable of treating powder with high uniformity, high yield and a high treatment effect.SOLUTION: An apparatus for treating powder includes a powder arrangement section 6 provided above a discharge unit 1, and a gas introduction unit 10 provided below the discharge unit 1. The gas introduction unit 10 is provided to introduce gas 22 into a through-hole 3 in the discharge unit 1 from the undersurface side of an insulating substrate 2. By blowing plasma 23 upward from the through-hole 3, powder 21 is treated by the plasma 23 while the powder 21 is flowed above the discharge unit 1.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing onium tetrakis(acyloxy)borate stably and efficiently that can be applied to commercial production. SOLUTION: A tetrakis(acyloxy)borate of an alkali metal is reacted with an onium salt in the presence of an alkali hydroxide to produce the onium tetrakis(acyloxy)borate. In an embodiment, a solution of a tetrakis(acyloxy)borate of an alkali metal and an alkali hydroxide dissolved in a nonprotonic polar solvent is reacted with a solution of an onium salt dissolved in an alcohol to produce the tetrakis(acyloxy)borate. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a liquid-repellent resin sheet capable of avoiding damage while performing liquid repellent treatment using atmospheric-pressure plasma, a method for manufacturing a light guide plate, a liquid-repellent resin sheet, a liquid repellent treatment apparatus, and a system for manufacturing a light guide plate.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a liquid-repellent resin sheet according to an embodiment of the present invention has a step of subjecting the principal surface 40a of a resin sheet 40 disposed between a pair of electrodes 521 and 522 disposed facing each other to liquid repellent treatment by atmospheric-pressure plasma by generating an atmospheric-pressure plasma in an atmospheric gas G between the pair of electrodes. Electric power corresponding to an electric power density of 1 W/cmto 25 W/cmis supplied to the electrodes and the atmospheric gas includes argon and a perfluorocarbon.
