    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new lusterless electrodeposition coating composition having better weatherability, mar resistance and coating film hardness than conventional compositions, and excellent in coating film properties such as chemical resistance, solvent resistance and mechanical properties, a finish feeling, workability, stability of a coating and the like.
    SOLUTION: An anionic lusterless electrodeposition coating composition comprises (A) a vinyl copolymer having a Tg of 0-50°C prepared by copolymerizing (a) an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, (b) a hydroxy group-containing α,β-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, (c) an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a crosslinking functional group, and (d) another α,β-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, (B) a vinyl copolymer prepared by copolymerizing (e) 40-90 wt.% of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated monomer whose homopolymer has a Tg of 60-170°C, (f) 5-40 wt.% of a hydroxy group-containing α,β-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and (g) another α,β-ethylenically unsaturated monomer as the remaining portion of the monomer components, and (C) a crosslinking agent.
