A tape printing apparatus includes a cutter unit that cuts a printed roll sheet (3A). The cutter unit includes a stationary blade (8A) and a movable blade (8B). A pair of resin spacing plates (110, 111) are fixed to a surface of a reverse face of the movable blade (8B) that slides over the stationary blade (8A). This configuration enables a cut end on a transfer direction downstream side of the cut roll sheet (3A) to slide over surfaces of the spacing plates (110, 111). Hence, even when an adhesive remains in the cut end, the cut end of the roll sheet (3A) can be forcibly released from the surface of the movable blade (8B). Further, since the spacing plates (110, 111) are simply fixed to the surface of the movable blade (8B), it does not blunt the movable blade (8B).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer with an auto-cutter capable of discharging a cut piece without generating stay of the cut piece in a paper sheet exit, even when defining a lower end edge of the paper sheet exit for discharging the cut piece by a horizontal face. SOLUTION: The paper sheet exit 5 includes a stage face 40 for defining the lower end edge 5a. A sloped guide face 41 sloped downwards is formed in a downstream end edge of the stage face 40. A protrusion 47 projected toward the second side wall 43 for defining the other side of a paper sheet passing positions is formed in the first side wall 42 for defining one side of the paper sheet passing positions on the stage face 40 and the sloped guide face 41. The cut piece 11c is laid on the stage face 40 to cover the protrusion 47 from its upper side, when a label paper sheet 11 is cut. Resultingly, the cut piece 11c gets unstable by the protrusion 47 just after laid on the stage face 40. A method and apparatus for improved cutting of an object (12) is provided. The object can take the form of many different structures including thin formations that require cutting precision, support, and dimensional control. In accordance with one example embodiment of the present invention, the method of cutting a member uses a laser and begins with the step of providing a template (16) removably adhered to the member (12). The laser then projects through the template, without intersecting with the template, to cut the member and manufacture the desired formation. The laser does not intersect with, and therefore does not cut, the template structure and cause excess laser cutting dust.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal apparatus of a suction type installation table in which carrying in and out of a sheet material having large change of bulkiness by suction in laminated state are smoothly carried out and cutting accuracy can favorably be kept. SOLUTION: In a constitution represented by figure (c), when an interval Hc is sufficiently ensured to make carry in and out of a material to be cut easy when cutting a sheet material having high compressibility, a distance Dc is made large and cutting accuracy is lowered. According to the seal apparatus 21, it is easy to keep an interval Ha in a value smaller than Hc in a pressing state represented by figure (a) and covering of the material 25 to be cut by a hermetically sealed sheet 27a can sufficiently be carried out and cutting accuracy can be improved when a distance Da is kept in a value smaller than Dc. In a non-pressing state represented by the figure (b), an interval Hb can be kept in a value larger than Hc and carrying in and out of the material 25 to be cut having large bulkiness can readily be carried out.
