PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-machine developing type original printing plate for a lithographic printing plate, which performs image-recording by laser light exposure, has good on-machine developing properties, is excellent in stain resistance properties, and furthermore has an extremely excellent printing plate wear resistance in comparison with a case using a conventional radical polymerization. SOLUTION: The original printing plate for the lithographic printing plate is characterized in that the original printing plate has an image recording layer including (A) a polymer compound with a side chain containing a betaine structure, (B) an infrared absorbing agent, (C) a polymerization initiator and (D) an ethylenic unsaturated polymerizable compound on a substrate, and being removed with a printing ink and/or dampening water. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing plate original plate which is capable of performing the plate making directly from digital data of a computer or the like, is capable of performing development on a printer or the development by the use of an aqueous solution having a pH of 11 or less, in particular, has excellent developing property after the lapse of time and, moreover, has high printing durability and satisfactory staining resistance, to provide a method of making a lithographic printing plate using the lithographic printing plate original plate, and to provide a polymer compound which can be used for the lithographic printing plate original plate.SOLUTION: The lithographic printing plate original plate has an image recording layer which contains a polymerization initiator (A), a sensitizing dye (B) and a polymerizable compound (C) on a support, wherein the image recording layer or an undercoat layer which is disposed between the support and the image recording layer contains a polymer compound (D) which includes a repeating unit (a1) having a specified radical polymerizable group on a side chain and a repeating unit (a2) having a specified structure interacting with the surface of the support on a side chain. Among such polymer compounds, the novel one is also included.
