SOLUTION: If sulfur poisoning of the NOx storage reduction catalyst 4 adsorbing, reducing and converting NOx component in exhaust gas progresses, sulfur component in exhaust gas can not be sufficiently stored and is discharged to an exhaust gas downstream of the NOx storage reduction catalyst 4. The discharged sulfur component adheres on a detector of an oxygen concentration sensor 5 arranged in exhaust gas downstream of the NOx storage reduction catalyst 4 and changes sensor characteristics thereof.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the fluctuation of the driving torque when a throttle valve is opened by opening the throttle valve from the idling position while a lock-up clutch is temporarily set to the non-lock-up state during the automatic drive control. CONSTITUTION:An automatic drive control device normally outputs the lock-up signal to a lock-up clutch to set it to the lock-up state, if a constant-speed running command is issued in place of a deceleration running command, the output of the lock-up signal is interrupted, and a signal for opening a throttle valve from the idling position is outputted to an actuator controlling the throttle valve after a fixed period T0 elapses. When the throttle valve is actually opened from the idling position, the output of the lock-up signal is restarted.
