PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: although researchers have made some progress in the search for more efficient CH bond activation pathways for converting natural gas and other hydrocarbon feedstocks into fuels and other products, there remains a tremendous need for a continuous, economically viable, and more efficient process.SOLUTION: An improved continuous process for converting methane, natural gas, or other hydrocarbon feedstocks into one or more higher hydrocarbons or olefins by continuously cycling through the steps of alkane halogenation, product formation (carbon-carbon coupling), product separation, and regeneration of halogen is provided. Preferably, the halogen is continually recovered by reacting hydrobromic acid with air or oxygen. The invention provides an efficient route to aromatic compounds, aliphatic compounds, mixtures of aliphatic and aromatic compounds, olefins, gasoline grade materials, and other useful products.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst increasing an effective area of a crystal surface part of the catalyst and enhancing collapse strength of a granulation article of the catalyst without using a bonding agent. SOLUTION: The granulation article of the catalyst is obtained by drying a slurry containing a catalyst powder obtained by finely dividing a metallosilicate-containing material by a bead mill by a spray drying method. The material is the one containing metallosilicate substantially having a fine hole having a diameter of 4.5-6.5 Å. The material may be finely divided such that an accumulation degree of a particle diameter of metallosilicate is 50% and becomes 1.0 μm or less. The metallosilicate may be carried with at least one or more selected from rhenium, vanadium, molybdenum, tungsten, chromium and its compound as a metal component. The slurry may be applied to the drying process after aging. Polyvinyl alcohol may be added to the slurry. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zeolite catalyst which can, when producing lower olefins from low-boiling hydrocarbon raw materials such as light naphtha, promote a reaction at as low a temperature as possible, increase a yield of propylene relative to ethylene, and be long lived.SOLUTION: This zeolite catalyst is used when producing lower olefins from low-boiling hydrocarbon raw materials such as light naphtha. The zeolite catalyst is a crystalline aluminosilicate having an MFI structure containing an iron element and its molar composition ratio of iron element to a total of the iron element and an aluminum element is set in a range of 0.4 to 0.7. This zeolite catalyst enables improvement of propylene yield, lowering of reaction temperature, and prolongation of catalyst life.
