Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 3(4),8(9)-bisformyl-tricyclo[5.2.1.0 2.6 ]decane from dicyclopentadiene. SOLUTION: In the method for producing 3(4),8(9)-bis(aminomethyl)-tricyclo[5.2.1.0 2.6 ]decane by hydroformylating dicyclopentadiene and then aminating reducibly, is hydroformylation of dicyclopentadiene is performed by 2 steps. In a first hydroformylation step, 8(9)-formyl-tricyclo[5.2.1.0 2.6 ]decene-3 is obtained by using a group VIII transition metal compound containing a water soluble organic phosphorus (III) compound bonded as a complex state in a heterogeneous reaction system, and in a second hydroformylation step, thus obtained 8(9)-formyl-tricyclo[5.2.1.0 2.6 ]decene-3 is converted into 3(4), 8(9)-bisformyl-tricyclo[5.2.1.0 2.6 ]decane in the presence of a group VIII transition metal compound in a homogeneous organic phase. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for producing a TCD-monenal with less expense. SOLUTION: The method for producing 8(9)-formyl-tricyclo[5.2.1.0 2.6 ]decene-3 (TCD-monenal) by hydroformylating dicyclopentadiene with a synthetic gas in a heterogeneous reaction system by using an aqueous solution of a compound of a transition metal of group VIII of the periodic table, containing a water soluble organic phosphorus (III) compound bonded in a state as a complex salt at 70-150°C temperature and 0.5-10 MPa pressure to produce the TCD-monenal is characterized in that the water soluble organic phosphorus (III) compound is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of a sulfonated arylphosphine and aryldiphosphine. NEW MATERIAL:The azulene derivative of formula I (R 1 and R 2 are H or 1W12C alkyl or alkenyl). EXAMPLE: 3-Ethyl-7-isopropylazulene-1-aldehyde. USE: An antihyperlipemia. It has no side effect and is useful for the prevention and remedy of hypertension, arteriosclerosis, etc. PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be prepared by introducing formyl group to the compound of formula II by the Vilsmeier reaction in dimethylformamide solvent in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride, distilling out the solvent from the reaction product under reduced pressure and passing the product through an alumina column to effect the separation and purification of the objective compound.
