    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polypeptide composition capable of inducing immune response against a plurality of arthropod-mediated diseases in a vertebrate, and to provide a vaccine against the arthropod-mediated diseases, using the polypeptide composition.SOLUTION: There is provided a polypeptide composition comprising one or more polypeptides which are immunogenic in a vertebrate such that they cause the vertebrate to produce immune system cells capable of recognizing at least one epitope derived from an arthropod saliva protein fraction. The arthropod saliva protein fraction has a molecular weight of 40 kDA or less, and the polypeptides are selected independently from specific polypeptide sequences and partial sequences thereof and having seven or more amino acid residues; or from polypeptide sequences contained in one or more of polypeptide sequences having 85% or more homology with one or more of the above sequences. There is also provided a vaccine composition containing the composition.

    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel Theileria antigen so as to improve convenience of a diagnostic system of Theileria infection, the system evaluating increase and decrease in numbers of the respective T-cells producing IFN-γ and IL-10 responding to Theileria orientalis (T. orientalis) antigen.SOLUTION: A partial peptide of ToMRP antigen of T. orientalis is synthesized and used as a stimulant for T-cell immune response in the above diagnostic system. The peptide stimulates IFN-γ secretion cells and IL-10 secretion cells, which are produced specifically with the ToMRP antigen in T. orientalis infected bovine so as to secrete IFN-γ and IL-10. By measuring the amounts of secretions, T. orientalis infection is advantageously diagnosed.
