    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal melting, scouring furnace suitable for training in school. SOLUTION: The scouring furnace using two welders further uses two elevators (jacks in Fig. 1) and arc is generated from above and below a graphite crucible fixed with a ladle base separate from the structure of the furnace using upper and lower electrodes. Consequently, copper (having a melting point of 1,083 deg.C) is scoured through reduction melting easily from an oxide in the sense of welding and can be cast immediately into a product without requiring reheat. The inventive furnace combines three functions of reduction scouring, metal melting and casting.

    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the erosion of a refractory by arbitrarily adjusting the temp. of a refractory laying body and to improve the durability of the refractory laying body by releasing heat stress developing at the time of air-cooling or heating the refractory. SOLUTION: A heat exchanger is arranged at the back surface of the refractory laying body and/or in the laying body and fused salt and/or water or steam having the temp. corresponding to the temp. needed to this heat exchanger therein, are flowed as the medium body to cool or heat the refractory laying material. By using this method, when the molten metal exists in a refining vessel, this vessel is cooled, and when the molten metal does not exist in the refining vessel, this vessel is heated, and thus, the temp. of the refractory laying body of the refining vessel is adjusted to improve the durability of the refractory laying body.
