Abstract:
A surgical drape allows access to a vaginal area during cesarean sections without breaking a sterile field. The drape comprises a base sheet defined by an incision panel that overlays a peritoneal region, where the cesarean section primarily occurs; and a vagina panel that overlays a vaginal area. The incision panel has a transparent polymer film panel for viewing the incision. A collection pouch catches bodily fluids. The vagina panel enables sterile manipulation of the vagina while performing the cesarean section. The vagina panel is defined by a viewing pane for viewing the vaginal region through the base sheet. A sleeve extends through a hole in the viewing pane to manipulate the vaginal region and a baby. The sleeve is configured to allow insertion of a hand through an open end, and then manipulate the vaginal region with a closed end without breaking a sterile field.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compositions and formulations comprising glucosamine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for use in the treatment of joint conditions and adapted for use in a bath or soak or bath beads, powders, salts, and oils, kits, and methods of treatment using the same. Also disclosed are lozenges, suppositories, patches, and topical creams comprising glucosamine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for use in the treatment of joint conditions and methods of treatment using the same. In some embodiments the joint conditions include ostearthritis.

Abstract:
This invention relates to an adjustable foot support including a mount housing and lower housing. The mount housing is configured to be externally mounted to a piece of furniture and includes an internal, threaded column. The lower housing also includes an internal threaded column with the column configured to mate with the mount housing.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are presented for performing wavelet transforms, post transform processing and inverse wavelet transforms whereby hardware complexity is reduced and processor performance is enhanced by performing the forward and inverse wavelet transformations and post transform processing in variable precision arithmetic. Optimal decreases in the operational arithmetic precision of different wavelet scale coefficients, multiplication and weighting operations, and other operations, results in reduced computational complexity, increased speed, and in some cases better signal to noise ratios.
Abstract:
A method for packet telephony includes receiving over a packet communication network (22) a first message originating from a first end-user (32A) in a first aggregating organization (28) to place a call to a second end-user (32D) in a second aggregating organization (30). Responsively to the first message, respective values are assigned to one or more security attributes that are indicative of a likelihood that the call is a spam call. A second message is transmitted over the packet communication network toward the second end-user, the second message containing at least one of the respective values that was assigned to at least one of the security attributes.
Abstract:
A mobile payment platform and service provides a fast, easy way to make payments by users of mobile devices. The platform also interfaces with nonmobile channels and devices such as e-mail, instant messenger, and Web. In an implementation, funds are accessed from an account holder's mobile device such as a mobile phone or a personal digital assistant to make or receive payments. Financial transactions can be conducted on a person-to-person (P2P) or person-to-merchant (P2M) basis where each party is identified by a unique indicator such as a telephone number or bar code. Transactions can be requested through any number of means including SMS messaging, Web, e-mail, instant messenger, a mobile client application, an instant messaging plug-in application or “widget.” The mobile client application, resident on the mobile device, simplifies access and performing financial transactions in a fast, secure manner.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer-usable medium is based on a procedure that includes: generating a graphics file for each of a plurality of Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams; creating an Extensible Markup Language (XML) schema that reflects an underlying subject domain that is to be used when creating an XML representation of one or more UML models that incorporate relationships described by the UML diagrams; converting each of the UML models into an XML file using the XML schema, wherein the XML file includes XML formatted written descriptions of attributes of elements represented in the UML models; and transforming the XML file into multiple HyperText Markup Language (HTML) files, wherein the HTML files include written descriptions of attributes of and relationships among elements represented in the UML models.
Abstract:
A method for estimating unknown parameters (pan angle (ψ), instantaneous tilt angle (τ) and road geometry of an upcoming road segment) for a vehicle object detection system. The vehicle object detection system is preferably a forward looking, radar-cued vision system having a camera, a radar sensor and an processing unit. The method first estimates the pan angle (ψ), then corrects the coordinates from a radar track so that pan angle (ψ) can be treated as zero, and finally solves a least squares problem that determines best estimates for instantaneous tilt angle (τ) and road geometry. Estimating these parameters enables the vehicle object detection system to identify, interpret and locate objects in a more accurate and efficient manner.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to polymorphic Plasminogen genes and polypeptides. In particular, the present invention provides assays for the detection of Plasminogen polymorphisms and mutations associated with disease states and provides screening assays for the identification and use of compounds that alter Plasminogen activity and/or biological pathways involving Plasminogen.
