Abstract: A method for capture in a radar system having at least one receive antenna of a vehicle, wherein the following steps are carried out repeatedly: carrying out a capture of a sensor signal in each of the receive antennas of the radar system, wherein the sensor signal captured as a result is specific for a detection of raw targets by the radar system, and carrying out a comparison of the captured sensor signal or the captured sensor signals of different receive antennas for the provision in each case of a phase-adjusted sensor signal, wherein the phase-adjusted sensor signals from different repetitions of the steps are combined to provide a capture result.

Abstract: An electronic device 1 comprises: a transmitting antenna configured to transmit transmitted waves; a receiving antenna configured to receive reflected waves obtained by reflection of the transmitted waves; and a controller. The controller detects, based on transmitted signals transmitted as the transmitted waves and received signals received as the reflected waves, an object reflecting the transmitted waves. The controller determines frequencies of transmitted waves to be transmitted from the transmitting antenna based on results of receiving, from the receiving antenna, each of reflected waves obtained by reflection of a plurality of transmitted waves with different frequencies transmitted from the transmitting antenna.

Abstract: Perception sensors of a vehicle can be used for various operating functions of the vehicle. A computing device may receive sensor data from the perception sensors, and may calibrate the perception sensors using the sensor data, to enable effective operation of the vehicle. To calibrate the sensors, the computing device may project the sensor data into a voxel space, and determine a voxel score comprising an occupancy score and a residual value for each voxel. The computing device may then adjust an estimated position and/or orientation of the sensors, and associated sensor data, from at least one perception sensor to minimize the voxel score. The computing device may calibrate the sensor using the adjustments corresponding to the minimized voxel score. Additionally, the computing device may be configured to calculate an error in a position associated with the vehicle by calibrating data corresponding to a same point captured at different times.

Abstract: A method of determining a filling level of a product in a tank having a tank wall, the method comprising: generating and transmitting an electromagnetic first transmit signal; propagating the first transmit signal through a tank atmosphere towards a corner reflector formed by the surface of the product and the tank wall where the surface of the product meets the tank wall, the corner reflector being at a known horizontal distance from the radar level gauge system; receiving an electromagnetic first reflection signal resulting from reflection of the first transmit signal at the corner reflector; determining a measure indicative of a propagation direction of the first reflection signal; and determining the filling level based on the measure indicative of the propagation direction of the first reflection signal and the known horizontal distance between the radar level gauge system and the corner reflector.

Abstract: The invention regards a radar calibration system and a method for moving a radar calibration target along the predefined movement path. The system comprises a radar calibration target, having a reflector of a known radar cross section, the reflector having a discontinuous surface mounted on and at least partially surrounding a drive unit for three dimensionally moving the radar calibration target based on control signals. The calibration target further has a localisation unit for determining a position of the radar calibration target. A control unit is configured to generate the control signals based on position information received from the localisation unit and a desired movement path and the movement of the radar calibration target is then executed by the drive unit based on the control signals.

The targets are used to check the calibration of the sensors on the AV as a quality check before the AV is determined fit to drive autonomously. Supervising a calibration process that collects data from the sensors on the AV based on exposure to a series of targets or augmented camera targets. The collected data may be used for extrinsic calibration aimed to determine that extrinsic parameters that define the rigid relationship between sensors are in set checker bounds.

Abstract: A radar antenna calibration method includes: forming a detection matrix from signals detected by an arrangement of receive antennas in response to chirps transmitted by an arrangement of transmit antennas, the detection matrix having multiple rows corresponding to the chirps, multiple columns corresponding to a signal sample, and multiple planes corresponding the receive antennas; deriving a range matrix by performing a frequency transform on a portion of each row of the detection matrix; extracting a slice of the range matrix, with different rows of the slice being associated with different chirps and with different receive antennas; deriving a velocity matrix from the extracted slice by performing a frequency transform on a portion of each column of the extracted slice; analyzing the velocity matrix to determine a current peak width; and adjusting, based on the current peak width, phase shifts associated with one or more of the receive antennas.
