摘要: Technologies for communicating roadway information includes a plurality of roadway markers configured to propagate communications amongst each other. To do so, each roadway marker is configured to transmit communications to one or more other roadway markers. The communications may include sensor data generated by a sensor of a roadway marker. One or more roadway markers may transmit the sensor data to a roadway controller. Additionally or alternatively, the communication may include an alert message. A roadway marker may include a local alert device and be configured to activate the alert device in response to receiving an alert message. Additionally, one or more roadway markers may communicate with a roadway controller, a roadway traffic device, and/or an in-vehicle computing system of a vehicle to propagate roadway marker sensor data and/or alert messages. The roadway controller may be configured to control the roadway traffic devices, roadway makers, and/or communicate with remote computing devices.

摘要: A method of making an article from polyvinyl chloride compound that has a predetermined amount of gloss is disclosed. Samples of the resin are prepared that have different molecular weight distributions. Articles are made from the samples and the gloss of the articles is measured. The relationship between the molecular weight distributions of the samples and the gloss of the articles made therefrom is determined. From that relationship, an article is made from a resin selected such that its molecular weight distribution corresponds to the predetermined amount of gloss.

摘要: A method and corresponding apparatus allows multiple virtual switches in a physical switch to share one physical Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) in an RPR network. Modules in the multiple virtual switches add multicast information to traffic to direct the traffic along a common path to other physical switches on the ring, and modules in the virtual switches inspect traffic to determine whether the traffic is directed to the respective virtual switch. Multiple virtual RPR subrings are made available in a single physical ring, increasing usefulness of virtual switches formerly only able to support multiple tributary connections to other networks but not able to share a single ring network communications path. Sharing a single communications path increases overall network bandwidth, and at least one implementation allows for spatial reuse.

摘要: Technologies for controlling vision correction of a wearable computing device includes controlling an opacity of an adjustable lens of the wearable computing device to generate a viewing port through the adjustable lens such that a region defined by the viewing port has an opacity less than a remaining region of the adjustable lens. For example, the opacity of the adjustable lens may be increased except for the region defined by the viewing port. In use, the wearable computing device may adjust the location, size, and/or shape of the viewing port based on a predefined prescription, the direction of the user's gaze, the user's viewing context, and/or other criteria. Additionally or alternatively, an image may be displayed on an external display surface of the adjustable lens. The wearable computing device may include multiple adjustable lens, each of which may be controlled in a similar manner.

摘要: A smart valve for controlling a plumbing fixture includes a control valve, a hydroelectric generator, and one or more sensors. The hydroelectric generator produces electrical power for the smart valve. The smart valve monitors sensor data from the sensors, evaluates the sensor data, and performs control actions in response to evaluating the sensor data. Control actions include restricting or shutting off water flow using the control valve. Control actions also include transmitting control messages to remote computing devices, for example to activate appliances or other home automation devices. The sensors may include a temperature sensor, a flow sensor, a proximity sensor, and/or a humidity sensor. The smart valve may shut off the water flow when a measured sensor value exceeds a predefined threshold value. The smart valve may be coupled inline between a plumbing system and a plumbing fixture. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
