摘要: A rotation control apparatus for a differential actuator includes two induction motors and a differential mechanism for producing a constant torque on its output shaft based on the differential speed of the induction motors. The appartus includes two inverters each located between one of the induction motors and a common power source for the induction motors and having individual voltage/frequency output characteristics. The inverters set separately the voltage/frequency output characteristics of power supplied to the induction motors so as to control the speed of the induction motors separately, thereby controlling the output torque on the output shaft of the differential actuator. And the output shaft of the differential actuator is controlled to constant speeds regardless of the load torque on the shaft based on the difference of setting frequencies on both inverters.

摘要: An apparatus and process for forming surface layers on electrodes by electron discharge machining. A machining gap, between an electrode and a workpiece is filled with a dielectric mixture containing metallic or submetallic powder. The apparatus uses a swinging mechanism to move the electrode during processing. The apparatus uses a high-voltage superposition circuit to superpose a voltage of 100-400 V across the gap. The apparatus uses a current limiting resistor of 100-300 .OMEGA. to ensure that the main circuit supplies a low voltage of approximately 100 V to the machining gap. In a second embodiment, the apparatus prevents electrode cracking by dispersing the discharges throughout, and widening, the machining gap.

摘要: Powder of a simple substance or a combination of a plurality of carbides of metals belonging to the IVa, Va and Via families in the Periodic Table is mixed with a ferrous-family metal powder or non-ferrous metal powder having the same composition as the treatment target (2) as a simple substance or a combination of a plurality of metals, and this is compressed and molded, and incompletely sintered to form an electrode (12) serving as a discharge processing electrode; and said device is provided with a switching unit which alters electrical conditions at the time when the base member of the treatment target (2) is directly subjected to a discharging surface treatment and the electrical conditions at the time when a coating film (13) that has been formed is subjected to a discharging surface treatment according to the characteristics of the treatment target material. Thus, a discharge is continuously generated between the sintered electrode (12) and the treatment target (2) so that the coating film (13) is continuously allowed to deposit on the surface of the treatment target (2) by the discharging energy to form a thick film.

摘要: In an electric discharge machine, wherein electric power is supplied between an electrode and a workpiece to machine the workpiece, a jumping motion is performed to temporarily increase a distance between the electrode and the workpiece. The electric discharge machine includes a detector for detecting a machining reaction force; a setting unit for setting a specified value of the machining reaction force; a comparator for comparing a detected value of the machining reaction force with a specified value of the machining reaction force; and a changing unit for changing a locus of the jumping motion so that the machining reaction force can be reduced if the comparator finds that the detected value of the machining reaction force is greater than the specified value of the machining reaction force.
