    摘要: EDM assemblies mount on a machining surface and discharge rotating sub-electrodes against the surface. The sub-electrodes can also revolve about another shared axis while discharging. Rotation and revolution may be achieved with planetary gears fixed with the sub-electrodes and meshing with a stationary sun gear. Several sub-electrodes can be used in a single assembly. Downward movement of the sub-electrodes from a central shaft on the mount allows several inches of the surface to be machined. Assemblies are usable in a nuclear reactor during a maintenance period to machine a hole for a replacement manway cover underwater in the flooded reactor. The differing rotational movements and vertical movement can be independently controlled with separate motors in the assembly. Power and controls may be provided remotely through an underwater connection.

    摘要: Electrode for an electro-erosion process, includes a shaft, a body coupled to the shaft, a plurality of machining-inserts, an insulated layer, and a flushing cover disposed on the body and coupled to the shaft. The shaft includes a channel, a plurality of first openings and second openings, where each opening is connected to the channel. The body includes a plurality of main-flushing channels, where each channel is connected to a corresponding first opening. The plurality of machining-inserts is spaced apart from each other along a circumferential direction and detachably coupled to a peripheral end portion of the body. Each machining-insert includes at least one third opening connected to a corresponding main-flushing channel. The insulated layer is disposed on top and bottom surfaces of the body. The flushing cover includes a plurality of side-flushing channels and a plurality of fourth openings, where each channel is connected to a corresponding second opening.

Various embodiments include a control system for controlling a plurality of electrode devices in an EDM system to form holes in a workpiece. The control system can be configured to perform a process including: initiating a hole formation program for each of the plurality of electrode devices; determining whether at least one electrode has completed formation of a corresponding hole in the workpiece; and separating the at least one electrode from the workpiece in response to determining that the at least one electrode has completed formation of the corresponding hole.

    摘要: A wire electrical discharge machining apparatus capable of improving the shape precision of a continuous corner part includes a corner speed coefficient calculation device calculating a machining speed ratio between a middle corner section and a straight part from a machining volume ratio between the straight part and the middle corner section in which machining volume becomes a constant value. A corner speed coefficient interpolation device interpolates a speed coefficient calculated by the corner speed coefficient calculation device in a pre-corner section and a post-corner section. A speed reference calculation device calculates a machining speed reference based on a representative speed and the corner speed coefficient, and a drive control device controls a drive device. A continuous corner detection device determines whether continuous corner sections overlap each other when the length of the straight part connecting two corner parts is shorter than the length of the pre-corner section.
