    摘要: A medicine bottle is formed with a neck that defines an opening and a closed bottom opposite the opening. A closure element is engaged with the neck to block the opening, and the closure element is formed with a fluid passageway. A fitting is positioned in the fluid passageway. The fitting is configured for receiving the hub of a needleless syringe, and a tube which has a proximal end is positioned in the bottle with the proximal end in fluid communication with the fitting. The tube also has a distal end disposed near the bottom of the bottle. Consequently, the syringe can be engaged with the fitting for drawing liquid from the bottle into the syringe without inverting the bottom of the bottle over the neck of the bottle, even when the bottle is nearly empty.

    摘要: If an active router Master Control Processor (MCP) fails, a backup MCP switches over without interrupting peer network router connections, because all previously established connection parameters are replicated on both MCPs. Once the MCP programs line cards, the packet forwarding modules and embedded system function without further involvement of the MCP until the next programming update. Messages flow through the backup MCP and then through the active MCP, which outputs messages through the backup MCP. Thus the backup MCP captures state changes before and after the active MCP. Both MCPs maintain replicated queues in which they store replicated messages awaiting processing or retransmission. If acknowledgment of receiving a transmitted message is received from a destination peer router, that message is deleted from both MCPs. If acknowledgment is not received within a predetermined interval, the stored message is retransmitted. Message splicing prevents lost and partially transmitted messages during and after switchovers.

    摘要: In highly-available Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing in a network, the dynamic state of a backup OSPF instance in a router is synchronized with the dynamic state of an active OSPF instance using explicit message transmission from the active instance to the backup instance. After this, the dynamic state synchronization of the backup OSPF instance is maintained using a combination of explicit message updates from the active OSPF instance together with a message flow-through mechanism. In the event of fail-over of the active OSPF instance, then the router recovers seamlessly without reconfiguring or interrupting traffic among peer routers in the network, by functionally substituting the synchronized backup OSPF instance for the active OSPF instance, such that the backup OSPF instance establishes itself as the new active OSPF instance.

    摘要: There is disclosed a shared multiprocessing system with several nodes, or processing units, interconnected together for communication purposes by a dual channeled crossbar switch. Several such multichannel crossbar switches can be linked together to form a large cohesive processing system where processing units from one node can access memory from another node on the same crossbar or from another node on a different crossbar. The interconnection between crossbars is accomplished by a circular ring. In operation, the system allows for long memory latencies while not increasing the length of short (local) memory latencies. This is accomplished by storing the bulk of long latency requests at the local processing unit and only sending the request when there is an actual availability of communication capacity to handle the long latency request.
