摘要： A rotary printing press has a postprinting processing station where the printed web of paper, stretched out between two pairs of nip rollers, is slit longitudinally into a pair of web halves and where the web halves are subsequently superposed one upon the other. This station includes a tension roller for imparting tension to the web being slit, and a set of turnbars for causing a change in the traveling direction of one of the web halves before being placed in register with the other. The tension roller and one of the turnbars are both automatically driven to their working positions with the start of machine operation and retracted when the machine is set out of operation.

摘要： A method of makeready for a web printing press of the type wherein a web of paper or the like is fed through a print station and a perforating or like processing station driven by first and second drive shaft sections, respectively, which are normally held interconnected via a clutch for joint rotation and which are declutched to allow the print station to operate independently of the processing station. For reconnecting the two drive shaft sections in phase, the method comprises counting the number of revolutions of the first drive shaft section after the same has been declutched from the second drive shaft section, as by a CPU connected to receive electric pulses representative of the revolutions of the first drive shaft section. Upon reception of a clutch engage command from a manually actuable control panel, the CPU computes the additional number of revolutions required for the first drive shaft section before being reconnected in phase to the second drive shaft section. The CPU puts out a signal for causing the reengagement of the clutch when the first drive shaft section completes the above computed additional number of revolutions.

The turn bar apparatus includes an upstream side turn bar, and a downstream side turn bar disposed along a web running direction. Pull rollers are disposed on an upstream side and a downstream side of the upstream side and downstream side turn bars, respectively. The puller rollers are controlled in such a manner that the peripheral speeds of the pull rollers are faster than a running speed of the web.

摘要： A paper folding apparatus for a form printing machine includes an automatic paper cutting device having a cutting cylinder, which is disposed on an upstream side of an oscillatory shooter assembly, and which is adapted to form a cross line of cuts interposed by at least one small uncut portion in a continuous web of paper. The cutting cylinder is synchronously rotated with the paper for forming the cross line of cuts in response to a signal detected according to a predetermined length of travel of the continuous web of paper. The apparatus also includes a supporting device disposed on the oscillatory shooter assembly which supports a nozzle roller so that the nozzle roller may be moved to a first position which is displaced either toward or away from a counter roller so as to enable the continuous web of paper to slidingly travel between the two rollers, and a second position wherein the paper is intensively pressed against the counter roller so that the paper is prevented from sliding between the two rollers. The apparatus also includes an operating device which is disposed on the oscillatory shooter assembly which moves the nozzle roller supported by the supporting device from the first position to the second position when the cross line of cuts formed by the cutting cylinder arrives on the upstream side of and immediately before the nozzle roller.

摘要： A tension control system for a web in a form printing press permits arbitrary setting of tensions of a web at respective zones between an impression cylinder and respective rollers. The system includes tension detectors located on the upstream side of an impression cylinder in the printing portion and upstream side of a tension roller in the processing portion, for detecting tension on the web, speed adjusting mechanisms provided at least in respective drive systems of the impression cylinder and the tension roller adjacent to respective tension detectors, for adjusting respective rotation speeds of the impression cylinder and the tension roller on the basis of output signals from controllers, to which detected signals of respective tension detectors are fed back and tension setting devices associated with respective controllers. The controllers compare the detected values from respective tension detectors with set values from the tension setting devices and output the output signals for controlling rotation speeds of the impression cylinder and the tension roller so that differences between the compared values are reduced to zero.

Furthermore, the arbitrarily positioned lateral-perforation forming apparatus includes a first differential mechanism disposed in an element connected to one of the lateral roulette cylinder and the receptacle cylinder in the drive system, causing difference in rotational phases of the lateral roulette cylinder and the receptacle cylinder by varying rotation of a differential shaft thereof for selectively placing the edge receptacle portion at a position opposing to the roulette edge and a position circumferentially offsetting from the roulette edge, and a first control unit for controlling rotation of the differential shaft of the first differential mechanism.

摘要： A delivery fan, comprising sets of blades at constant circumferential spacings, receives therebetween the sheets successively falling from an overhead infeed conveyor. The sheets fall off the delivery fan on hitting a set of abutment tines arranged interdigitatingly with the fan blades. A stack of sheets thus formed on a retractable platform is unloaded therefrom onto a delivery conveyor. A temporary sheet holder is provided which is angularly displaceable about the delivery fan axis between a working position, where it temporarily receive the sheets falling off the delivery fan pending unloading of the preformed stack of sheets, and a retracted position where the sheet holder allows the sheets to fall from the delivery fan onto the platform. The sheet holder is mounted to the shaft of the delivery fan via a pair of overrunning clutches and sprung from the retracted toward the working position. Consequently, when unlocked from its retracted position upon stacking of the sheets to a predetermined height on the platform, the sheet holder turns to the working position at the same angular velocity as the delivery fan.

摘要： An arbitrarily positioned longitudinal perforation forming apparatus includes a longitudinal roulette cylinder composed of a first rotary shaft arranged on one side of a continuous web paper and at least one disc-shaped longitudinal roulette edge supported on the first rotary shaft so as to be adjustably positioned in an axial direction of the first rotary shaft. The apparatus further includes a receptacle cylinder composed of a second rotary shaft arranged on the other side of the continuous web paper in parallel relationship with the first rotary shaft and at least one disc-shaped edge receptacle plate supported so as to be adjustably positioned in an axial direction of the second rotary shaft. A projecting edge receptacle portion on the outer periphery of the edge receptacle plate opposes the longitudinal perforation edge of the longitudinal roulette cylinder. A drive system drives the first rotary shaft of the longitudinal roulette cylinder and the second rotary shaft of the receptacle cylinder in synchronism with the travel of the continuous web paper. An edge receptacle plate switchover moving device engages the edge receptacle plate to move the edge receptacle plate in the axial direction, and a first control unit controls the edge receptacle plate switchover moving device.
